This paper uses the university in Shenzhen as the research scope to explore the death attitude of college students and the influence of death events on their death attitude. The purpose is to improve the sense of life of college students. The study adopts the mixed research method.Firstly, the questionnaire survey method in quantitative research is used to collect and analyze the characteristics of college students' death attitude and complicated grief.Secondly, focus groups and semi-structured interviews using qualitative research methods are used to understand the death fear ?death anxiety and complicated grief of college students. The above research results lead to the following conclusions:(1)Female college students score higher than males for accepting and escaping.Undergraduates have higher death evasion scores than master students. There is no significant difference in the scores of complicated grief situations on the gender, major, and grade levels;meanwhile, the differences in people of bereavement are statistically significant and the highest score is for those who lose their fathers.(2)There is no significant difference in whether college students' attitudes to death have experienced bereavement.(3)There is no correlation between complicated grief status and natural-oriented death acceptance, and there is a significant positive correlation with death fear, death evasion,approach-oriented death acceptance, and escape-oriented death acceptance.(4)The death attitude of college students can be predicted based on complicated grief. The higher the score of complicated grief, the higher the death evasion, approach acceptance, and escape acceptance.(5)The death attitude of college students can be effectively intervened through bereavement counseling. The death attitude of the control group after intervention has a significant positive change.Based on the above research conclusions, this study proposes that the death education for college students can be enhanced from the perspectives of content, individuals, universities and society.
