Three-dimensional Analysis Of Scientific Research Efficiencyin Research-oriented Universities

Research-oriented Universities as the center of China's top-level training and the latest cutting-edge technology research and development,has a high academic talent and quality of output.The government has invested significant resources for research activities of research-oriented universities each year,ifthere will have more and higher level output by more resources into? Ifscientific research efficiency of research-oriented universitiescan increase with more resources input? Are there exist differences of scientific research efficiency between regions? Understand and solve these problems can effectively guide the government to optimize the allocation of resources to assist the relevant departments to understand the scientific research efficiency of research-oriented universities within its jurisdiction,for the research-oriented universities indicate the direction to improve the efficiency of scientific research.Currently the relevant literatures on scientific research efficiency in research-oriented universitieshave different definitions and sample of research-oriented universities,efficiency values obtained are different,too.Most study aboutresearch-oriented universitieschoose985 universities as research samples,and showed low overall efficiency of their research.Considering the current research-oriented universities catalog has been updated,the existing study lack of comprehensive sample,the results about the efficiency can not represent the efficiency of scientific research aboutresearch-oriented universities in this category.Currently there is no consensus definition and classification about research-oriented universities,depending on the most comprehensive point of view,and to ensure the objectivity and comprehensiveness of the results,this thesis selects 92 colleges as research sample.Most existing studies remain at the level of static analysis,and less into account changes in the level of efficiency of university research and profound reasons for this change,this article will also expand the level of static analysis and dynamic levels.In this thesis,I choose 2008-2014 years of data,and 92 research-oriented universities as research sample,using the DEA method from a static point of view of scientific efficiency of research-oriented universities do research effectiveness analysis;and then based on DEA Research on Malmquist TFP index calculation research-oriented universities,and further decomposed into technical efficiency and technological progress index,respectively,from the time dimension,the regional dimension,the school research to explore the dimensions of these schools and their level of efficiency growth Changes.The results show: from the view of time,2008-2014,the research TFP with an average annual growth of 0.4%,the growth rate is slow,volatile overall efficiency of scientific research,which may and research universities in the early stage of construction.From the view of college,2014 DEA invalid research universities accounted for 50%,mainly due to investment in research resource configuration unreasonable.From the view of region,the gap between scientific research areas is large,research universities in North China region most unstable research efficiency,greater efficiency gap between research schools;Central South China research TFP growth slowest;Northwest Region of Research Universities research TFP growth is the fastest.Based on the above conclusions are proposed to improve the efficiency of scientific research at the University of suggestions.
