Globalization and informatization have led to the deepening of educational reform.Nowadays,the international comparison of textbooks has become a hot point.Therefore,the comparison results of different textbooks can provide reference for the reform of mathematics curriculum,the compilation of teaching materials and teaching practice in China.China’s People’s Education High School Mathematics(Version A)textbook compulsory 1,compulsory 4 and Australian Mathematical Methods textbooks were selected as research subjects.The content of high school section “collection and function” is regarded as the carrier.Comparing and analyzing the textbooks of China and Australia from both the overall and specific aspects through comparative literature research method,research method,content analysis and statistics analysis draw the following conclusions:(1)In the overall design of teaching materials,MM textbook layout more distinguishability,while the structure of teaching materials for people’s education is more diversified;(2)In the content of textbook chapter,MM textbook cover a wider range of types of functions involved;(3)In the integration of teaching materials and information technology,the use of information technology tools in the MM textbooks is advanced,the integration of functions is more complete,and the frequency of integration is higher.However,the integration mode of teaching materials and technology is not as good as the teaching materials of the People’s Education Press;(4)In the presentation of content,the textbook of human education version is more reasonable than the MM textbook in terms of chapter introduction,knowledge connection and knowledge expansion,but the range of knowledge is relatively narrow;(5)In terms of comprehensive difficulty of exercises,the average value of teaching materials in mathematics inquiry,background,inference and knowledge content is larger than that of MM textbooks.Combine the above conclusions,there several suggestions for the preparation of teaching materials for people’s education:(1)Make the layout more colorful and improve plate discrimination;(2)Enrich textbook content and expand function types;(3)Strengthen technology integration and give full play to thematic advantages;(4)Focus on knowledge development and set the content reasonably;(5)Improve the level of calculation of example exercises and increase the introduction of actual background.Through the comparative analysis of Chinese and Australian textbooks,it is hoped that they can provide some reference for the compilation and revision of textbooks,and provide a reference for frontline teachers in the process of teaching Set and Function content.
