Ministry of education promulgated “Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Deepening the Course Reform and implementing Essential Task of Strengthening Moral Education to Cultivate People” in 2014,which indicates that curriculum innovation in basic education has been into comprehensively deepening period.Progress has been taken place in in the curriculum construction and management,construction of teaching staff,evaluation system and teaching and learning methods.Classroom is where we cultivate students,also the the basic path to achieve the goal of curriculum innovation,it is also the best standard to demonstrate and verify the effectiveness of curriculum reform.Examplary lessons represent the expected teaching practice in specific period,the research of examplary lessons may help us better understand the blueprint of curriculum innovation.Teaching is a social practice which goal is cultivating people in every perspective.From the view of activity theory,this paper use case study method to study the feature of examplary lessons.The 20 selected examplary lessons were all chosen from Communication Conference in a few years,focusing on the theme of “graphics and geometry”,including content from grades two to grades six.This study summarizes the features of teaching of exemplary elementary mathematics lessons.By referring to the second generation activities theory analysis of the elements of the activities and considering the characteristics of teaching activities,a holistic four dimension framework was established,which including purpose,subject,method and content.This study includes three stages: Firstly,determination of the analytical framework.Through literature review and theoretical construction,an analytical framework which is suitable for analyzing teaching activities was established.Secondly,summarized the features of teaching of exemplary elementary mathematics lessons.Taking the framework of teaching activity analysis as a tool and the video of 20 primary school mathematics quality courses as the object,this paper summarizes the features from each dimension of framework.Lastly,according to the features of examplary lessons,we are going give some advice to improve the quality of teaching.We found some features of examplary lessons:The purpose of activities is practical,common,emergent and pointed to Core Components of Mathematical Literacy;The selection of subjects to is two-way and diversity,the switch of subject is with a strong sense of purpose.Community as the subject of activity plays a central role in teaching;Tools are the core of the method of activity.Method of activity was mathematized and formalized;Content is the carrier of mathematical essence.The content is closely related and the distribution of content is consistent with the Fan Hill geometric thinking level.Learning methods have also become important activities;There is a relationship chain of teaching activity between four dimension.This study shows us following conclusion.Examplary lessons demonstrated the requirements of teachers and students during the deepening of curriculum reform.It has Formed a unique situational teaching model for examplary lessons.Teacher-student relationship presents a new look.Teachers had paid attention the deep blend of subject thought and classroom teaching.Goals played a leading role in teaching activities.Based on the activity theory,this study aims at concluding the feature of exemplary elementary mathematics lessons,hoping to provide a reference perspective for teaching research,activities for the enrichment of activities to provide teaching materials.The study of the feature of exemplary elementary mathematics lessons can help us promote understanding of the effectiveness of curriculum reform.At the same time,this paper also hope to provide an improved reference for the teaching of graphics and geometry in primary schools so as to promote the improvement of teaching quality.
