Liang Qichao was a famous enlightenment thinker,political activist and the grand master of modern Chinese culture.He was also a thinker and practitioner on family education.He fostered nine children not only with great and deep love,but also with special education thought.All of his nine children became experts in their respective fields.Three of them even became famous academicians.In this paper,the ideas and practice of family education,whose essential features are people-oriented prioritization and the combination of Chinese culture and Western culture,are thought to be the reasons that make Liang Qichao created a successful family education case.Liang Qichao considered the all-round developments of their children as the starting point and home of family education,paid attention to guiding the children' interests to the lives and learning,cared about their physical and mental health,cultivated their characters,and made them knowledgeable,increased their capacities of managing finance.Eventually,they became elites whose personalities were interestirg and knowledgeable.In the practice of family education,Liang Qichao communicated with his children in an equal and friendly manner,respected their wishes,perfected the family education thought according to the feedback of their children,and put them into practice again.The achievements of his children are the outcomes of family education.
