Since the higher education expansion in 1999,the number of students in higher education has also been expanding gradually.Postgraduate students have also increased significantly,the investment in educational resources cannot meet the demand for the expansion,which has led to a decline in the quality of postgraduate education.As the highest level of education in the higher education system,guarantee the quality of graduate education is crucial.As the basic process of teaching in colleges and universities,the improvement of its quality has become the requirement of current educational reform and development.Although Yunnan University is the first batch of "double first-class" universities in China,there are also some deficiencies in the teaching of postgraduates.Especially in the cultivation of postgraduates of liberal arts,it’s showing a situation of focusing on essays and research,but ignoring teaching.This investigation selected Yunnan University liberal arts graduate students as the research object,through questionnaire survey to understand their satisfaction about the course teaching of major course,then conduct the in-depth interview according to the result and discussed the problems in the course teaching of the arts graduate in Yunnan University.This investigation conducted a descriptive statistical analysis of the satisfaction of the questionnaire survey and also analyzed the differences between different groups,the average degree of satisfaction of course teaching of major course of arts graduate in Yunnan University was 3.20,it’s between generally satisfied and satisfied,close to generally;the degree of satisfaction of various factors of course teaching from high to low is the course assessment,teaching content,teaching methods,and course setting.Form the analysis of differences in different groups,the degree of satisfaction of the second grade graduate students in teaching content,teaching methods,and course assessment is higher than the third grade graduate students.The graduate’s degree in the same discipline or the same major is less satisfied than the interdisciplinary student at the course level;academic graduate are less satisfied with required elective ratios and enrichment of electives than professional graduate;students who are interested in majors are more satisfied than normal and uninterested students;the number of students in the class is inversely proportional to the average degree of teaching methods satisfaction.Based on the conclusions of the questionnaire,this investigation also conducted indepth interviews with main participants(including postgraduates in liberal arts,teachers in major courses,and leaders in charge of teaching in some colleges)in course teaching,through the collation and analysis of interview data,the problems existing in the current course teaching of major course of arts graduate in Yunnan University are presented.Finally,this investigation puts forward some suggestions for improvement of the problems in the course teaching of liberal arts graduate,hoping to provide reference for course teaching reform in Yunnan University. |
