In 2007, the problem of university students' employment was written in 17th People's Congress session for the first time. It not only manifested the thought that the Party concerns on the livelihood of the people, but explained that the employment of the collage students has already become the focal point which the society paid more attention to, even some media regard it as difficultly in seeing the doctor and housing problems. Meanwhile, the enployment of the graduate student has arosed widespread concern. Reviewing the former research, the scholars are stressing in the education system, but the author considers the perspective is not comprehensive. So the author analyzes the above prblems in the view of the career expectation of the graduate students.This article takes 50 fresh graduate student of liberal arts from 4 different majors in changchun as the example. Through the method of questionnaire and interview, it analyzes the characteristics of career expectations of liberal arts graduate students and the factors which effect liberal arts graduate students career expectations. According to social demand, embarking from the reality, it discuss the contradictions between the career expectations of the liberal arts students and social needs, and tries to explain the profound reasons for employment difficulty of the liberal arts graduate students. The university where the author works is a key universities. But the local liberal arts graduate students also faces the difficulty in employment. On one hand, the author is engaged in the management of graduate students, and years of working experience provides the author plenty of data. On the other hand, as an on the evegraduate student, the author has a deep know of the difficlty in employment. The above conditions indicates this research has its feasibility and practical operations. Through this article, the author draw the conclusion as follow.Firstly, the career expectations of liberal arts graduate students has the following characteristics. To begin with, desalting in major consciousness. They do not emphasize appropriate when they choose their occupations. And then, male graduate students regard self development, high income, accord with the personal interest. But female student regards professional stability, welfare, higher vocational. Moreover, both male and female student yearn for the prestigious career, but only a few students put themslves in suitable expectations. Fourth, their selection of different companies reflectes their characteristics of career expectations. In the end, they choose economic developed area and northeast China.Secondly, the factors which influent the career expectations of liberal arts graduate students include the following aspects. First of all, the student's own factors. Different personal ability of liberal arts graduate students leads to different career expectations. The contradiction to which the liberal arts graduate students face between the ideal and the reality causes the instability of their career expectations. The psychological unbalance of the liberal arts graduate students can cause their career expectations irrational. The goals' clear-cut degree of liberal arts graduate students directly affects their career expectations. what is more, family factors. It includs the influence from family members and the family finances conditions. Last but not the least, the social factors.Finally, the contradictions between social needs and career expectations of liberal arts graduate students cause the employment difficulty. These contradictions is reflected in the following aspects. Firstly, the contradiction between rapidly growing quantity of graduate students and the slow growth of the social needs. Secondly, the contradiction between the phenomenon Employing Male and the career expectations of liberal arts graduate. Thirdly, the contradiction between the companies'requirements for employees which are either too high or too low and high career expectations of liberal arts graduate students. Fourth, the contradiction between high capacity and practical which companies require and low capacity and no pratice the liberal arts graduate students have.Through this research, the author propose the following solutions. Firstly, the government should accelerate the pace of economic development, and promote the economy pulled on the job market. Secondly, the government should draw up some relevant policies and construct the harmonious and fair employment environment. Thirdly, strengthen the employment guidance of liberal arts graduate students to guide them to form rational career expectations. Anyhow, the study can not only enrich career expectations theory, provide employment guidance department, but can make arts graduate students clearly know the social environment, provide them theory support in their self-suitable career plans. |
