Influenced by the development trend of the New Geography Curriculum Concept,the practical activities of cultivating the junior high school students' geography practice ability are regarded as testing the correctness of the geography knowledge under the background of the key competences.It can deepen teachers' understanding of geography practice ability and change the learning style,improve the geography skill,cultivate students' geography key competences.In practical activities,students' problem-solving ability and comprehensive practical ability are cultivated.However,the function of geographical practice is oversimplified at present,so the author probes into the cultivation of junior high school students' geographical practical ability and puts forward the corresponding solutions to provide ideas and references.The research methods used in this paper include: literature research,case study and educational investigation.Research ideas are: firstly,on the basis of the analysis of relevant documents,the research theme is determined.This paper analyzes the current situation of the subject at home and abroad,research methods and significance of this paper.Secondly,from the perspective of teachers and students,a questionnaire survey of junior high school students' geographical practical ability is conducted,through which the problems and reasons are found.It is found that geography teachers themselves have insufficient understanding of geography practical power,and students have a high enthusiasm for participating in practical activities,but due to the influence of school and teachers,they lack the opportunity of physical participation.Finally,basing on the results of questionnaire survey,the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to cultivate geographical practical ability of students from junior high school.The specific contents include that the activity column of geography teaching material should focus on the cultivation of junior high school students' geographical practical ability,the content of school-based curriculum should embody the cultivation of junior high school students' geography practical ability,the geography teacher should strengthen their own practical guiding ability;It is necessary to cultivate the participation consciousness of junior high school students.
