Study On The Osmosis Of STS Education In Biology Teaching In Rural Senior High Schools

Based on relevant educational theories and research theories at home and abroad,this article first analyzes the high school biology textbooks of the People's Education Press and clarifies the content of the STS in the textbooks.And then analyzes the implementation of STS education for my own teaching cases.Further,a random sample survey of 16 biology teachers and 270 students at the different class levels of three grades in Xichuan No.1 Senior High School was conducted to understand the penetration of STS education in rural senior high school biological teaching and even the existing problems.In the end,this article selected one class(60 students in each class)of each grade taught respectively in Xichuan No.1 Senior High School,and provided them for three months of biological STS teaching.In addition,the significant test and analysis of the mean value of the paired data before and after the biological teaching infiltration of STS education in each class are performed.1.Questionnaire survey results show that:(1)There is a high number of female biology teachers in Xichuan No.1 Senior High School,which tends to be younger and has lower professional titles.Most of them are undergraduate education and biology majors.All of them support and agree with STS education and have some understanding of STS teaching.However,they do not fully understand and master all the contents of STS education.The understanding of STS teaching is only on the surface.Having a certain amount of knowledge,but mainly due to the lack of training opportunities and time,most teachers lack frontier scientific knowledge.Most of them do not fully understand and use the STS knowledge penetrated in teaching materials and teaching objectives,nor do they pay attention to and guide students to pay attention to and discuss extracurricular knowledge.Most of them can correctly recognize the value of social practice activities,but due to factors such as teachers,students,and society,they do not well organize social practice activities.Most of them agree with the multi-assessment model.They think that the biggest factors that influence STS teaching is teachers themselves and college entrance examination system,and STS teaching is also influenced by courses,teaching materials,schools,parents,and students.Having gained a lot of knowledge and ability in STS teaching.(2)According to the analysis of grade level and class level,students in different classes at the first,second and third grades are mostly satisfied with the biology courses.The main reason for dissatisfaction is that the teaching forms are single.Their attention and participation in biology courses are not high,and the satisfaction and participation of high-level students are higher.Not every student has a positive emotional experience inside and outside class,especially for low-level students.Students like teachers to adopt cooperative teaching and involve STS content.High-level students pay more attention to learning methods and students at other levels value learning interest more.Most students can correctly understand the relationship between science,technology and society,and have the correct scientific attitude,but the overall attention and participation in science,technology and society are not high.In addition students in different classes are different.The career goals of students are gradually clear,but the higher the level of students,the more unclear their career goals are.The more students do not intend to develop towards biology.Students expect the use of STS curriculum resources in schools,teachers,and teaching materials.2.The significant test before and after infiltrating the STS teaching in biology shows that the students' academic performance after infiltrating the STS education in rural high school has significant or highly significant improvement,the initiative and enthusiasm of the students are obviously enhanced,the attention to biological learning is enhanced,and the attitude is changed.Based on the analysis of the above results,seven suggestions for the problems existing in students,schools,teaching time,quality of teachers,existing education evaluation system,etc.are proposed,which need to be worked together by teachers,schools,students,parents,and society.
