A Comparative Study Of College Entrance Biology Examination Paper In China And A-Level Biology Examination Paper In Singapore

Since the resumption of the college entrance examination,our country has been exploring and innovating the reform of the college entrance examination and continuously improving the college entrance examination system.In September 2014,the State Council issued the 'Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Examination Recruiting System",which proposed new requirements for the setting of college entrance examination subjects and adopted the new "3+3" examination subject setting mode instead of the original one.The new test model will separate the biology from the science synthesis and set it as a single test.Therefore,the structure,the questions,and the content of the biological test papers need to be changed.As one of the Asia's four little dragons,Singapore enjoys a reputation for its economy and education in the world.The culture of our country shares many similarities with Singapore's.The A-Level Examination in Singapore is the same as the National College Entrance Examination in China.It is an annual national university entrance examination in Singapore and is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Education of Singapore(MOE),the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Committee(SEAB)and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Committee(UCLES).Based on different education backgrounds in Singapore and China,this study analyzed the three aspects of the structure of the examination papers,the test questions,and the content of the examinations in these two countries in the past fifteen years.Then conduct comparative studies with specific examples.In terms of the structure of the examination paper,the main comparison is from the mode and time of the test paper.For the type of questions,the author studies each question and classifies the same type of questions.The contents of the paper are classified according to the SEC.The results of the study indicate that Singapore's biometric papers have the following characteristics.Firstly,they are suitable for their country's national conditions and pay more attention to their links with social life.Secondly,they focus on cultivating comprehensive abilities such as rational thinking and scientific inquiry.Finally,the assessment contents are comprehensively in-depth,reinforcing the intrinsic relevance of knowledge.All in all,Singapore has inserted a lot of fresh materials in its examination questions,which is more open and comprehensive and more human.According to the research results,China should actively learn from its successful experience.On the one hand,we need grasp the reform direction of reflecting the new era,and focus on the development of quality education.On the other hand,we should pay attention to the cultivation of innovative talents and promote the development of students in a comprehensive and individual manner.In addition,we could constantly pay attention to the cultivation of students'rational thinking and increase their ability to examine rational thinking.Finally,we should attach importance to the Biology and improve its status,and increase the number of questions for biological examinations.
