Since preschool age is the critical period for the development of children's emotional competence, good emotion will better promote children's cognitive ability, enhance children's social interaction and reduce children's dangerous behaviors. However, improperly coping with children's negative mood will to some extent inhibit the formation of children's good personality and is likely to derive other "anomie"behaviors.Since teachers are the important "others" in children's life, their strategy in copying with children's negative mood will directly affect the development of children's positive emotional competence. The children in primary, middle and senior classes in kindergarten were selected as the observation class from A kindergarten of Wuhan, among which two teachers(apart from child-care workers)and children in each class were taken as observation objects.By means of naturalistic observation method, children's negative emotion and teachers'strategy of coping with children's negative emotion in practice were researched. On this basis, the characteristics and problems in teachers' strategy of coping with children's negative emotion were analyzed.Children's negative moods include anger, sadness, anxiety and sadness,of which anger and sadness occur the most frequently.Starts with the causes of developing children's negative mood, the incentives are mainly divided into three categories:triggered by teachers, classmates and themselves, where teachers' factor is the major cause. The specific methods adopted by teachers when coping with children's 4 kinds of negative moods include sense of humor, empathy acceptation, upholding justice, teaching strategy, criticizing and denying, ordering or limiting, rendering adjustment time and reaching agreement, etc. When further summarizing and concluding, based on strategy implementation modes,it can be divided into teaching by example strategy, accepting comforting and encouraging expression strategy, problem solving strategy, attention diversion strategy, emotion label strategy, cold treatment strategy, negligence strategy and emotional specification strategy.According to strategy starting point,it can be divided into emotional strategy, normative strategy and balancing strategy. The characteristics of teachers' strategy in copying with children's negative emotions are as follows:The starting point of strategy selection mainly focuses on normative strategies;negligence strategy and problem solving strategy are mostly used;the methods for using strategy are more but not flexible enough;comforting and encouraging expression strategy has the best effect.Teachers' strategies in coping with children's negative mood also contain the problems as follows:abuse of ignoring strategy and lack of awareness of emotional education;compressing children's motion and ignoring children's emotional experience;insufficient emotional meta-cognitive ability and weak effect of teaching by example;single coping strategy and inflexibility.Teachers' emotional awareness(perception of their own emotions and children's emotions),teacher's view of education and children, children's temperament.type, duration and incentives of children's negative emotions, type of children's activities are the factors affecting kindergarten teachers' selection of strategy in coping with children's negative mood and the problems in their strategies.Based on the above research, the researcher puts forward the following suggestions:emphasizing on the value of children's emotional education, understanding and accepting children's negative emotions, enhancing teachers' emotional metacognitive ability and flexibly choosing the coping strategies. All these expect to provide useful reference for improving kindergarten teachers' ability of correctly coping with children's negative emotions.
