the Reform of Senior High School Examination Enrollment System".For the first time,it has put forward the requirement that "Physical Education(PE)will become a compulsory subject in junior high school examination" in China.This is both opportunity and challenge for junior high school PE examination.Therefore,it is of great significance to investigate and analyze the current situation of rural high schools’ PE examination,as well as to improve the promoting effect of junior high schools’ PE examination on students’ physical health.This research investigated Grade 9 students,PE teachers,experts and leaders in physical education field in rural junior high schools in Huichang District.Research methods include questionnaires,statistics,interviews,and literature review etc.The results show:1.Most schools have a serious lack of sports venues,poor quality of the site,incomplete equipment and facilities and can not be used.2.93.3%of the investigated teachers think the current items setting of junior high schools’ PE examination is reasonable or almost reasonable;90.1%of the students think the items setting of current junior high schools’ PE examination is reasonable or almost reasonable.3.76.3%of the investigated teachers believe that the scoring criteria of men’s 1000 m are reasonable or almost reasonable;91.5%of the investigated teachers believe that the scoring criteria of 50 m are reasonable or almost reasonable;81.4%of the investigated teachers believe that the scoring criteria of standing long jump is very reasonable and almost reasonable.81.4%of the investigated teachers think that the scoring criteria of women’s 800m are reasonable or almost reasonable;98.3%of the investigated teachers believe that the scoring criteria of sit-ups are reasonable or almost reasonable.4.Only 32.2%of the investigated Grade 8 students practice items of junior high schools’ PE examination in regular physical education courses or extracurricular activities;67.7%of the investigated students in Grade 9 have targeted training for itemsof high school PE examination.More than 60%of investigated parents have misunderstanding on junior high schools’ PE examination;81.3%of the investigated PE teachers arrange preparation of junior high schools’ PE examination in the 9th grade;55%of the investigated PE teachers said their PE classes are often occupied by teachers of literary courses;although most of the investigated leaders put emphasis on scores of junior high schools’ PE examination,62.5%of the investigated school leaders do not attach importance to PE teaching.5.6.8%of the teachers thought that physical examination didn’t promote students’physical health,while 22.8%of them thought that physical examination didn’t promote students’ physical health.At the same time,29.3%of the students think that the physical examination will increase the pressure of learning.6.Only 23.7%of the sports teachers affirm that the sports exam can improve the enthusiasm of the PE teachers,and 27.1 of the sports teachers can not.7.More than 90%of the investigated teachers and students think that the organization and management of junior high school PE examination is in order;33.2%of the investigated students have no objection on the PE examination exemption system,but only 8.5%of the investigated PE teachers have no objection to the PE examination exempt system;PE examination face with external interference to a certain degree in organization and implementation process。Conclusions:1.As a result of the long-term impact of examination oriented education,most of the schools and school leaders put little emphasis on junior high schools’ PE examination.2.The school’s PE teachers and students approve the examination items after reform,but have various opinions on scoring criteria.3.The time of preparing for the exam is too short and unscientific.4.The implementation of PE examination is good for students in improving their corporeity,but some students think PE examination increases their study burden.5.Organization of rural junior high school PE Examination in Huichang District is in order,but is interfered by some external factors,which led to doubt about the fair,equity and open in PE Examination to a certain degree.Measures and recommendations:1.Education administration departments should further change their concept of education from top to bottom.2.The qualification and comprehensive ability of rural PE teachers should be improved through various ways.3.More scientific and reasonable planning for the planning of sports exam preparation time.4.Setting of scoring criteria should be more reasonable.Procedural evaluation should be emphasized.5.The management of PE examination needs to be enhanced.The organization of PE examination should be precise.6.PE examination system needs to be improved continuously.7.Funds need to be raised through various channels.Conditions of rural schools and construction of PE
