Abstract/Summary:
Biology,as the natural discipline,is closely bound by our daily lives.The biology in junior high school is the basis for students pursuing a series of biology studying.For this reason,the biology in junior high school is attached great importance in the studying process of entire biology studying.The Chifeng city is in the southeastern region of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.This paper seeks to understand the current teaching status,explore the existing question and propose the suggestions for the biology teachingin rural junior high school of Chifeng city through researching and analyzing the current teaching status in part of rural junior high schools of Songshan district in Chifeng city.Ultimately this paper seeks to make due contribution to providing the reference for biology education in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.240 students from grade one and 22 biology teachers of five junior high schools in Songshan district,Chifeng city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,includingAnqinggou Middle school,Chutoulang Middle School,Damiao Middle School,Dangpudi Middle School and Laofu Middle School are investigated.The investigation methods include questionnaire,face-to-face interview,classroom and after-class observations and data statistics and analysis.Through the collection and analysis of the investigation result,it is acquirable that the teaching idea,teaching hardware,teacher condition and teaching method of biology in all rural junior high schools are meeting the2011 th edition of compulsory education curriculum standard for biology teaching.Currently the problems are existing as: the biology discipline is less attached importance to by junior high school;the investment for biology teaching is lacked;the teaching condition is defective;students lack initiative for learning biology and are easily affected by the surroundings;teachers’ quality deserve to be elevated,and the teaching quality of biology deserves to be elevated;the students are increasingly less;students lack ecological consciousness.In view of these problems,the following suggestions are proposed.Firstly the junior high school shall update the teaching concept and attach importance to the biology teaching;cooperate with other schools as to acquire the joint progress in biology teaching;increase the biology education investment and optimize the teaching environment;attach importance to the biological experiment and strengthen the experiment construction;reasonable design the curriculum and attract excellent students.Secondly the students shall be motivated to increase the initiative for studying and attach importance to the biology studying;exert the subjective initiative and establish the knowledge network;overcome the objective factors and elevate the proactivity;learn well in biology and establish the ecological protection consciousness.Thirdly as for teachers,they shall pay close attention to students’ mentality and boost the healthy development of students;elevate the comprehensive abilities of biology teachers and perfect the professional quality of biology teachers;take advantage of the local resource and carry out the excellentinstruction;nurture the ecological protection consciousness of students.
