A Study Of The Influence Of Parental Educational Level On Children's Income In China

In recent years,with the adjustment and implementation of the national income distribution policy,the income gap between residents in China has been alleviated to some extent.However,some data show that the income gap between Chinese residents is still relatively large.In order to solve this problem,the author believes that education should be emphasized.The level of residents' income is not only affected by their level of education but also by the level of parental qualifications.Domestic and foreign research on the level of parental education on children's income,mostly through parental education to affect their children's level of education,and then affect their children's income.This article analyzes the influence mechanism of parents' educational level on their children's income from three levels.First,parents with higher educational level usually have higher income and better family education,so that they can provide better nutrition and good learning for their children.The living environment,in order to improve the children's learning environment,improve their learning competitiveness,and ultimately make their children more educated,and then the children get a higher socio-economic status and achieve higher income levels.This results in a significant positive correlation between parental education levels and children ' s income.The second is that parents who have been educated by higher education have stronger abilities.Because of the genetic factors,their children also inherited their strong abilities,which made them more likely to receive more education and thus enhance their children ' s labor market.Performance,improve children's income levels.Third,parents have a high level of education,they will get a good job opportunities,and thus high socio-economic status,to provide children with a more substantial material basis,and directly increase their children's income.This paper uses China's 2012 and 2013 comprehensive social survey(CGSS2012/CGSS2013)data for Probit regression estimation.First of all,control the exogenous variables such as the social status and economic level of parents,analyze the parental education level as the dependent variable,and influence the children's income level through three aspects.Second,research and analysis were carried out in various regions and between urban and rural areas to study the effect of parental education on children's income.After analyzing the models established in the data for 2012 and 2013,the conclusions are as follows:Parental education can significantly affect the income of children.In addition,the results also show that there is a significant positive correlation between the level of education of respondents and their parents and their income,and that there are differences between the samples of different ages,different regions,and between urban and rural areas.Based on the empirical results,we put forward specific suggestions,strengthen education reform and investment,support poor students policies,and achieve equal opportunities in education.
