“Education” is the research object of pedagogy,which is related to the position of pedagogy in “discipline jungle”.It is also a problem that must be addressed in order to resolve the crisis of discipline and strengthen the construction of discipline.“Life·Practice” education school is the local school founded by Professor Ye Lan of East China Normal University at the beginning of the century.Its birth has forced the advancement of independence and localization of pedagogy and promoted the development of pedagogy.As “Life·Practice” education school described,“Education is a social practice activity that directly ignites the life of a person”,which effectively defines the difference between the research object of pedagogy and other disciplines,and with the Chinese-style discourse,“teach person every living thing to cultivate their self-consciousness” further elaborated its connotation.The concept of “education” in the “Life·Practice” educational school contains the “genes” generated by its school,which embodies their breakthrough in the education philosophy and methodology.From the perspective of methodology,this paper interprets the concept of “education” in the “Life·Practice” education school via two dimensions,one is to study the logical starting point of the pedagogy theory system and the other one is to study the educational experiment.According to these findings of “Life·Practice” education school,the paper probes into the methodological basis behind its educational philosophy and reflects on its enlightenment to the current construction of pedagogy in China.The methodological features of the concept of “education” in “Life·Practice” education school are mainly embodied in its own mode of thinking--a mode which is unified by “interactive theory and practice” and “complexity”.These two ways of thinking are the results of rereading and reflecting on the classic Marxist philosophy,contemporary philosophy of science,the history of Sino-foreign pedagogy,and Chinese traditional culture on the basis of practical Chinese education conditions.They are beyond the traditional ways of thinking,such as dualistic opposites,dot thinking,linear thinking,etc.And they are the methodological guarantees for the formation and development of the “Life·Practice” education school.In addition,the birth of “Life·Practice” education school offers some useful methodological reference to the present construction of pedagogy in China.It's birth shows that it is feasible to strengthen the construction of pedagogy,to enhance its independence and locality,to study the logical starting point based on the construction of theoretical system or to study the experiment rooted in educational practice.The way to construct pedagogy is diverse,but no matter in which way,the breakthroughs in methodology are the guarantee for achieving breakthrough achievements.The methodological consciousness of existing research,especially the way of thinking,needs to be strengthened and broken through.Besides,the birth of “Life·Practice”” education school also shows that methodological problems are embedded in stance problem.In China,the birth of a prosperous new “education” world formed by more local educational theories and education schools not only requires an increase in methodological consciousness,the breakthrough of methodology system,but also the clear discipline stand.
