The rise and fall of the country is tied to education.Success or failure of education depends on teachers.It is an important issue for us to build a first-class faculty with high quality and innovative spirit to meet the needs of the reform and development of higher education in the new era.In 2015,the State Council issued the "Overall Plan for Promoting World-class Universities and First-rate Discipline Construction" and proposed the task of "accelerating the completion of a number of world-class universities and first-rate disciplines.However,the key to building first-rate universities and first-rate disciplines lies in building first-rate faculty.In the face of the new development situation and the background of the times,the effective enhancement of the construction of the teaching staff is an important task for the sustained and healthy development of the current first-rate subject universities,and its significance is far-reaching.The first-rate subject universities should be based on their own development orientation,combined with the actual situation of the school,update their perspectives,forge ahead,learn from the successful experience of first-rate foreign universities,and fully and efficiently seize the opportunities brought by the first-class discipline construction to build a high-quality faculty with its own characteristics.This article first defines the concept of disciplines,first-class universities,and faculty construction.It uses the literature research method,text analysis method,and case analysis method to study the construction of faculty in first-class discipline universities,and elaborates the goal of building a faculty team in first-class universities.Based on this,it puts forward the problems existing in the construction of the teaching staff,analyzes the reasons for restricting the development of the teaching staff,and then draws on the successful experience in the construction of the faculty of computer science in Stanford University,and provides corresponding suggestions for the construction of the faculty of the first-class university in China.This study mainly starts from six parts.The first part of the introduction introduced the background of the topic,the significance of research,literature review at home and abroad,research methods,as well as the innovation and deficiencies of the study.The second part defines the core concepts and analyzes the construction of the faculty of the first-class university based on the theory of expectation,motivation-health theory.The third part discusses in detail the background of building a first-rate university in China.It selects 16 representative first-class universities to analyze their orientation,and analyzes the requirements of teachers in the construction of first-class universities from the aspects of structure,management,and ethics.And then summed up the construction goals of the first-class university faculty.The fourth part points out that the introduction and cultivation mechanism of the leading talents in the construction of the faculty of the first-class university in China has not yet been formed,the structure of the teaching staff is not rational,the imbalance between teacher ethics and academic responsibilities,the imbalance between personnel management and people-oriented management and other issues,and analyze their causes from the perspectives of systems,strategies,and culture.The fifth part takes the construction of the faculty of computer sciences in Stanford University as an example,analyzes the successful first-class discipline teaching staff construction experience,and provides a reference for finding a suitable road for the construction of the first-class university faculty.In the sixth part,on the basis of analyzing the existing problems in the construction of the faculty of the first-class university in our country,the successful experience of the computer science faculty of Stanford University was used to establish a new concept,optimize the structure of the faculty,and establish a reasonable talent introduction and management system and establish a good teacher image and other suggestions.In short,the construction of faculty is the most important link in the construction of first-rate disciplines in colleges and universities.It analyzes the problems existing in the construction of faculty in first-class universities,and draws on the successful experience in the faculty construction of computer science at Stanford University,Combining the specific conditions of China's first-rate subject universities,and puts forward corresponding suggestions for the first-rate disciplines in China.It is of great significance for our country to build first-class faculty with its own characteristics.
