Tao Yuanming created a new theme,which is named pastoral.Chinese poetry was infused energetic factors.It marks the peak of the simple and unsophisticated poetry.His works are of good quality and they are suitable for teaching.His poems,essays are selected in the textbooks of the PEP language teaching materials.Each of them highlights the unique viewpoints,thoughts of artistic elements and the cultural elements.It is necessary to integrate the classic works of Tao Yuanming and explore the methods and attitudes when we interpret and analyze the text in the class.This article concentrates on how to do better when teachers teach Tao Yuanming’s works in school and takes the works in the PEP language teaching materials of Tao Yuanming as the research object.On the basis of the investigation and interviews with teachers,it is obvious that there are some problems during the teaching process.So it is necessary to explore ways to solve the troubles.We can make it through four teaching strategies.This article is aim to provide some good ideas and methods about Tao Yuanming’s works in order to produce a better teaching effect.In this paper,the text is divided into three chapters:The first chapter is about the selection and the teaching value of Tao Yuanming’s works.Combining teaching practice,respectively from the knowledge value,cultural value to discuss.They suggest that his works conform to the language learning and have comprehensive and practical characteristics.The second chapter is about the analysis of teaching status.Through interview of the front-line teachers and the students’ learning in the teaching practice,we find that some of them have partial judgment about Tao Yuanming.Their thought does not reach the designated position,and teacher’s teaching designs are unreasonable.They ignore the different stylistics and students can’t understand his works well.Teachers sometimes ignore the importance of open exercises.The article talks about five problems and analyzes the reasons.The third chapter is the strategy of teaching Tao Yuanming’s works.This part will be based on the curriculum standard and the learning of the selected teaching materials.We put forward operable teaching strategy for the specific courses.Mainly from four aspects.First,we should pay attention to the nature of man and the world,so that we can know Tao Yuanming well.Second,design personalized teaching,we can learn teaching design case of the excellent teacher and make the class creative.Third,improve teaching methods,mainly from the stylistic characteristics,mutual support between works,comparative reading to fully understand the style of Tao Yuanming’s poems,attach importance to the role of recitation.Last but not least,paying attention to open exercises.From these four aspects,we can interpret the works of Tao Yuanming,I hope I can offer ideas and methods to teacher’s teaching.
