Cost stickiness refers to the asymmetrical change between cost and business volume, that is,the proportion of cost increase when the business volume increases by 1% is greater than the proportion of cost reduction when the business volume decreases by 1%.The cost reduction ratio is related to the traditional management accounting theory in terms of cost and business volume. The assumption that the relationship is linear is contradictory. The study of cost stickiness is the continuation and development of the cost behavior theory. The labor cost is an important part of the company's cost. The study of the stickiness of the labor cost is a further expansion of the cost stickiness research. The problem of “employment shortage” in China and the rapid rise in labor prices indicate that China is in the stage of disappearing demographic dividend. The disappearance of the demographic dividend will increase the adjustment cost of the labor cost of the enterprise, and will affect the stickiness of the labor cost of the enterprise, which will in turn affect the profitability and long-term development of the enterprise. This thesis takes the disappearance of demographic dividend as background, analyzes the impact of the disappearance of demographic dividend on enterprises, and proposes the hypothesis that the disappearance of demographic dividend affects the stickiness of corporate labor costs, and empirically analyzes the sticky changes in labor costs of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2016.The study found that:(1)There is a sticky labor cost in Chinese listed companies;(2)There are industrial differences in the stickiness of labor costs in Chinese listed companies, manufacturing, electricity, heat, gas, water production and supply, construction, information transmission, and software and information technology services. In the four industries, labor costs are sticky, and other industries do not have significant stickiness in labor costs;(3)Demographic dividends have disappeared and the labor costs of listed companies have become more sticky;(4)Demographic dividends have disappeared. The stickiness of manufacturing labor costs has increased, and the impact on other industries has not been significant;(5)In the manufacturing industry, the disappearance of the demographic dividend has different effects on the stickiness of labor costs in different characteristic enterprises. With state-owned enterprises with a large number of employees, the disappearance of the demographic dividend has increased the stickiness of the labor costs of enterprises.Based on the empirical results,we put forward policy suggestions such as increasing the intensity of the manufacturing labor force and paying attention to changes in the labor market.
