| As an important part of our tour guide team,tour guide graduates in secondary vocational education not only plays an important role in the reception of China’s tourism market,but also faces increasingly fierce market competition.Therefore,using competency assessment method to evaluate the competency of the tour guide graduates in secondary vocational education can reflect their practical ability better help graduates to recognize their abilities clearly.It is also of great significance to improve the quality of tourism education and employment.At the same time,it also provides decision-making reference for secondary vocational schools in the formulation of talent training objectives,programs,and curriculum system.This article puts forward the theoretical and practical significance of this study and defines the definition of tour guide competence and its composition which are professional knowledge,professional skills and personal characteristics.It establishes the competency evaluation system for the tour guide graduates in secondary vocational education and determined the weight coefficient of professional knowledge,professional skills and personal characteristics through literature review,Delphi method,questionnaire survey and other methods.The paper compiles test questions of professional knowledge of tour guides,a survey on the competency of the vocational tour guide graduates in the travel agency,A questionnaire survey on the personal competence of the vocational guide professional graduates and other related questions and questionnaires according to the evaluation system of competency.Then taking Heyuan of Guangdong Province as an example,the competence ability of 200 tour guide graduates in secondary vocational education in Heyuan travel agency is evaluated.Through statistical analysis and comparison,we can find that the professional knowledge structure of tour guides in secondary vocational schools in Heyuan is not perfect,emphasizing on local tourism culture,ignoring Guangdong’s tourism culture and national tourism culture.The professional skills of tour guides in secondary vocational schools are not balanced,which basically meet the requirements of travel agencies for tour guides,but lack of emergency response ability and propaganda ability.Heyuan travel agency recognizes the personal characteristics of secondary vocational tour guides in Heyuan as a general degree.Generally speaking,time concept,concern for tourists,refusal of temptation and devotion to work need to be strengthened,and sense of humor and active service consciousness are weak.The external evaluation and self evaluation of secondary vocational tour guide graduates in Heyuan have consistency.It shows that the self competency cognition of tour guides in secondary vocational schools in Heyuan is relatively objective.They can evaluate themselves in a realistic way and are clear about their own lack of competency.Finally,in view of the above present problems of competency of tour guide graduates in secondary vocational education in Heyuan,the paper put forward the relevant countermeasures as follows: firstly,taking curriculum reform as a breakthrough,a competency oriented curriculum system for secondary vocational tour guides is constructed;secondly,taking skill practice as the starting point,a two-way practice system inside and outside school should be constructed;thirdly,we can promote learning through competition and highlighting the role of motivation in improving students’ ability;fourthly,we should strengthen the supervisory role of social administrative organs and play a warning role by punishing measures.;finally,we should establish joint training institutions with the aim of cooperation and cooperation.These can be to enhance the comprehensive quality of students,enhance the competitiveness of employment and meet the needs of enterprises. |
