Study On The Competency Cultivation Of Higher Vocational Colleges Students In Tour Guide Major Based On FREE-PRACTICE Tour Guide Background

With the rapid development and popularization of the Internet,guide service appointed by travel agency has been increasingly unable to meet the demands of tour guide market.In order to deal with this problem,China National Tourism Administration implements the FREE-PRACTICE policy to free guide service,which means that guides can have mutual choices,independent careers and multiple channels.FREE-PRACTICE liberates the guide labor market,and impels tour guides to focus on scenic explanation and service.Correspondingly,guide labor market has been changing the requirements of guide competency.However,the higher vocational colleges have not yet noticed new requirements and new trends in the cultivation of student's guide competency.As a result,the graduates are out of step with the market and can not provide satisfying services.In order to provide suggestions of cultivating students in guide major,this paper investigates guide competency in the context of Free-Practice.First of all,based on previous researches on guide vocational competency and visitor' feedback from Xiecheng web and Daoyou web,the paper initially forms a questionnaire containing categories of guide vocational competency and experts' opinions.Secondly,the paper collects experts' opinions.After two rounds of collections,the paper establishes the framework of vocational guide competency based on FREE-PRACTICE background,including 25 guide vocational competency categories and 50 definitions.Then guides with FREE-PRACTICE are invited to rank the importance of 25 vocational competency categories.Finally,the paper converts 50 vocational competence definitions into students' questionnaire,and investigates competency of current higher vocational colleges students in guide major.The results of the survey shows that there is a gap between the current students' vocational competency and the requirements of FREE-PRACTICE guide labor market,and that the focus of current students' vocational competency is inconsistent with the the focus of FREE-PRACTICE guide labor market.Finally,this paper proposes that cultivating students' competency in guide major should carry out pilot training based on the Free-Practice policy.Firstly,higher colleges should investigate the requirements of Free-Practice guide professional knowledge,professional skills and professional quality,and rank the requirements.Secondly,higher colleges should adjust the curriculum system,optimize the curriculum structure,enrich course subjects,innovate lesson contents,and integrate faculty resources within and outside schools.Thirdly,higher colleges should guarantee the practice and training of curriculum inside and outside school,and gradually transfer classrooms and examination halls to venues and scenic spots.At last,higher colleges should establish processional ability evaluation mode;in order to adopt more reasonable teaching methods,such as the task-orientation method,action-orientation method.
