With the advancement of science and technology and the development of economic globalization,China's economy has achieved great success and has become an important force for Asian economic growth. The importance of knowledge in society continues to increase, and human capital has become a powerful and critical factor in the overall social economic growth process. The central region is located in the middle of the inland region. It has an important geographic advantage in China and is a node that connects the industrial transfer and resource sharing in the eastern and western regions. At the same time,market-oriented reforms have prompted rapid economic growth in the central region. The article first reviewed relevant literature on human capital and economic growth at home and abroad, analyzed the current situation of human capital and economic growth in the central region, and adopted a modified Douglas production function to perform panel regressions on the data for the 26 years from 1990 to 2015 in the central region.Analyze, measure the human capital stock with the average years of education, use the education Gini coefficient to measure the human capital structure, and divide the human capital into primary human capital, intermediate human capital, and senior human capital according to the level of education;panel the model Before the regression,we passed panel unit root test and cointegration test. The results show that there is an equilibrium relationship between economic growth and human capital stock and physical capital stock, and there is a cointegration relationship between economic growth and human capital stock and human capital structure. The regression results indicate that the human capital stock in the central region has a positive effect on economic growth, and the human capital structure is significantly negatively correlated with economic growth. The coefficient of influence on the economy is 0.6769 and-0.1789,respectively.The output elasticity of middle-level human capital is higher than the output elasticity of high-level human capital, indicating that the human capital that contributes to economic growth in the central region is mainly secondary education. Therefore, the transformation of the rich human resources into human capital in the central region affects the economic development to some extent. Finally, this paper proposes relevant countermeasures and suggestions for promoting economic development in the central region, which include improving the labor market system, optimizing the allocation of human capital, implementing the social security system, improving the talent development mechanism, creating a free social environment, supporting talent innovation, and improving the enterprise incentive mechanism. To build a harmonious employment environment;increase input from the tertiary industry and optimize the regional industrial structure;strengthen investment in education funds, optimize the human capital investment structure;and create regional characteristic advantages and balanced development.
