Objective: Badminton running practice with change of direction commonly include fixed route and random route. However, the study of the energy contributions characteristics of these two training methods is very limited. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of different route randomness on energy contributions of college students’ badminton running practice with change of direction at two frequencies. Methods: 15 college badminton player whom from Shanghai University of Sports(Male,N=15,age 22.93±1.44 yrs, height 175.73±5.96 cm,weight 68.01±6.42 kg,badminton training period 2.23±0.53 yrs)voluntary participated in one maximal oxygen uptake test and four change of direction tests(fixed route / random route × high frequency / low frequency).A portable gas metabolizer was used to measure the breathing gas during the test, rating of perceived exertion is also measured during or after the test, and blood lactate is measured before and after test for analysis. The energy contributions were calculated with the method based on the fast component of oxygen debt and accumulated blood lactate and oxygen uptake during test.RESULTS: Route randomness at two frequencies have different effects on the energy contributions characteristics of subjects, the routes from the fixed to random in the running with change of direction significantly reduced the relative anaerobic alactic energy contributions of low frequency(44.35±8.53% vs.37.95±8.57%,P<0.05)and high frequency(40.91±10.51% vs.33.82±8.55%,P<0.05),significantly increased the glycolysis energy contributions(23.11±9.32 kJ vs.28.93±7.28 kJ,P<0.05)and relative glycolysis energy contributions(23.89±8.08% vs.30.54±1.70%)of high frequency. The frequency from low to high of the running with change of direction is significantly increased the three major energy contribution systems(anaerobic alactic:26.19±6.25 kJ vs.39.54±12.56 kJ,glycolysis: 5.70±2.42 kJ vs.23.11±9.32 kJ,aerobic: 27.11±6.49 kJ vs.33.29±5.67 kJ,P<0.01),and significantly increased the relative glycolysis energy contributions(fixed route: 23.89±8.08% vs.9.63±3.39%,P<0.01;random route: 30.54±6.58% vs.11.68±5.24%,P<0.01),which significantly reduced the relative aerobic energy contributions(fixed route: 35.2±6.50% vs.46.03±8.46%,P<0.01;random route: 35.65±5.36% vs.50.36±10.19%,P<0.01).Conclusion: The route randomness at two frequencies of badminton running practice with change of direction have different effects on the energy contribution characteristics.Arrangement of the random routes will reduce the stimulation to the anaerobic alactic energy contribution system and increase the stimulation to the glycolysis energy contribution system;the high frequency will increase the intensity of the running with change of direction as a whole, and will reducing the stimulation to the aerobic energy contribution system and increasing the stimulation to the glycolysis energy contribution system.
