The Study On The Impact Of Labor Supply Change On Manufacturing Upgrading

As the change of population structure and the acceleration of population aging,labor supply in China is undergoing profound changes,highlighting the slowdown in number of labor supply,the rising in laborers getting education,the rising labor costs and changes in labor supply structure.Especially since 2014,the decline in number of labor supply for the first time and full liberalization of two-child policy,the above factors will implement far-reaching impacts on China's manufacturing industry.Under such background,the way of guiding the matter along development and leading in line with China's labor supply changes in trend,to promote China's manufacturing transformation and upgrading is the main issue of this research.In this research,the FGLS measurement model is constructed by Stata on industry data of manufacturing sectors from 2001 to 2015,the relationship between labor supply change and manufacturing upgrading is carried out from the perspective of labor supply,quantity and cost on national level.The results show that:Firstly,the impact of labor supply number on labor-intensive manufacturing is significantly positive,the influence coefficient of capital-intensive manufacturing is significantly positive,the influence coefficient of technology-intensive manufacturing is positive.econdly,the influence coefficient of labor supply quality on capital-intensive manufacturing is negative but not remarkable,and the influence coefficient of capital-intensive manufacturing industry is negative,the influence coefficient of capital-intensive manufacturing industry is negative.Thirdly,the influence coefficient of labor supply cost on labor-intensive manufacturing is significantly positive,the influence coefficient on capital-intensive is negative,and the influence coefficient of technology-intensive manufacturing industry is obviously positive.It can be seen from the empirical analysis that the decrease of labor supply and rising of labor cost have significantly effects on upgrading of manufacturing industry,and the improvement of labor supply quality has remarkable effect on upgrading of manufacturing industry.According to the current situation and problem analysis,theoretical discussion and empirical test as above introduction,on how to work with the new changes in labor supply,to promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing,the last section of research provides some policy recommendations:Such as the implementation of perfect new fertility policy,elimination of involuntary unemployment;adhering to the new normal development strategy,properly treating international migration issues;advancing the mechanism of university innovation and professional reform,production and research to cultivate innovative,applied talents;financial support vocational training to enhance enterprises' level of skills;implementation R&D investment policy to improve enterprise innovation mechanism;establishing a reasonable wage mechanism and an innovative business management model;expanding domestic and foreign markets to promote private consumption.
