Fraction applied problems are mathematics synthesis problems of fraction knowledge and application by organic combination.They come from life,and have realistic background and significance,can solve the problems in the practical life directly.The solve process is the fraction knowledge for practical application in the thinking process,and is the concrete use of solving problem in fraction knowledge.The stand or fall of learning fraction applied problems can affect directly in the follow-up study of middle school mathematics.It can be seen that the United States,India and other countries also attaches great importance to the teaching in fraction applied problems from a large number of documents and materials from abroad.In this study,the literature method,comparative method and content analysis method are used to compare and study fraction applied problems in the China's PEP version,America's California version and India MM version.First,the research review.Second,interpretation and comparison of fraction applied problems in the curriculum standard.Third,make comparison of the content structure.Fourth,make comparison of application type.Fifth,make comparison of their process and thinking and method.Through detailed understanding and analysis of the fractional application problems in three versions of textbooks,this research comes to the following conclusions:(1)Education systems in the three countries are different from each other,and so are the distributions of fractional application problems.China's PEP version and America's California version both involve addition,subtraction,multiplication,and division application problems in the fifth and sixth grades,while the Indian MM version includes only fraction addition and subtraction.(2)With respect to curriculum standard,Chinese version emphasizes four standards and pays attention to the development and academic attitude of all students.America's eight indices underline individual development and cultivation of spirit of independence of students.India lays stress on connections to life and objects to subject discipline limits.(3)As for content structure,Chinese version has a wide range,great difficulty and precise question types.American version has a large volume of questions,approximate value of fractions and vertical calculation.Indian version has a smaller range and less questions.(4)Chinese version has the most question types,followed by US and India.(5)When it comes to the process and ideas and methods of solving problems,Chinese and American versions have similar problem-solving ideas.Problem-solving methods of the Chinese version are more and have greater flexibility,especially the use of equation greatly reduces the difficulty of solving problems.
