The Course "Selections from the Analects" has been started in highschool Chinese class in Zhejiang Province since November,2006."Selections from the Analects" is one of"Study of Cultural literature" elective courses,and its core purpose is to develop students'ability to properly interpret,criticize and inherit traditional culture."Selections from the Analects,is presents according to different themes,which mainly includes politics,self-cultivation,learning and education,and philosophy.It inherits "study of textbooks," "discussion of questions," and "experience of activities",three learning methods which adopted by required textbooks of Jiangsu Education Edition,to efficiently help teachers and students study traditional literature.Problems appear since teaching materials has been applied:Because Classical Chinese has been overemphasized,teachers may only teach content from textbooks,and ask students to do much exercise and exams;teachers may neglect language teaching,cultural connotation,and deep exploration of literature.Unordered,boring,and dull classes of "Selections from the Analects" is quite common today.This article starts from fundamental principles of teaching "Selections from the Analects",and with the experience that the author learned from her previous two teaching practice,she will deeply discuss "Selections from the Analects." This paper is going to discuss the teaching value of "Selections from the Analects" to organize classes in the first chapter,analyze current situation of "Selections from the Analects" from teachers,students,and materials-three different aspects,to guide teaching strategies in the future in the second chapter,think about efficient teaching methods in the third chapter,which mainly explores thematic teaching and conversational teaching,and cite two typical teaching cases in the forth chapter.Because there are relatively few studies about this topic,the author would like to provide some feasible ideas,and welcome colleagues' suggestions and help.
