As an independent kind of painting,watercolor has been standing in the world art circles for more than 300 years because there is greatly artistic charm in them which looks clear and transparent,pure and ethereal,gentle and subtle,natural and general.It blends the essence of Chinese and Western paintings in one.Their own artistic and use value for the people’s aesthetic and emotional needs as well as the needs of life can’t be ignored.The development of watercolor painting is not only the progress of Western painting itself for it fills the gap in the emotional needs of transparent material for a long time,but also is a colorful blend of Chinese painting with a mixture of water and color,full of sound and feeling which is in conformity with the Oriental aesthetic concept.Because of the portability,flexibility and expressiveness of the materials and tools required by watercolor tools,watercolor meets the needs of different levels of people and it is highly appreciated by designers and graphic artists as well as the education community.The unique language and connotation of watercolor painting are incomparable and irreplaceable in any other painting.Watercolor is also a jewel in hand-painted design applications.No designer does not use watercolors to design renderings.Nor can any software replace the visual effects of watercolor hand-drawing,as well as its visualization,agility and creativity.Therefore,the teaching of watercolor painting should be taken seriously in the hand-drawing class of vocational school.Under the requirements of the new curriculum standards,in the course of educational reform,watercolor has become a compulsory course in art courses for primary and secondary schools,vocational colleges and professional art schools,and has also become a basic course in the field of design.This paper introduces the teaching of watercolor into the hand-painted class of secondary vocational students.It is an effective way to absorb the essence of Chinese and Western art,keep up with the pace of the times,adapt to social development,meet the students’ follow-up professional development and meet the needs of quality education.The main concept of this paper is about how to break the stiff mode of teaching in traditional watercolor techniques,to make the hand-drawn lessons vivid and interesting,so that we can cultivate students’ interests in studying watercolors,and we can make students master watercolor painting techniques and improve their skills.What’s more,we can also combine watercolor painting with hand-painted renderings.Therefore,we can lay the foundation for the future development of students.This paper includes three aspects.First,I do research on the history and the characteristics of cultural connotation of watercolors’ developments,and analysis the current situation of watercolor teaching in secondary vocational schools and the general situation of watercolor teaching in China,so that we can make clear the status of watercolor teaching in hand-painted lessons in secondary vocational schools.In the second aspect,we form theoretical foundation of the teaching of watercolors in Yuci No.4 middle school by reasonably choosing the literature and works.We carry out the corresponding practice research of watercolor teaching according to the present situation and professional status of hand-drawn lessons of the No.4 middle school students in Yuci.It combining with the present situation of Yuci No.4 middle school students hand-painted classes and corresponding watercolor teaching practice research of the current professional.We grasp the teaching objectives and direction of watercolor teaching,launches the watercolor teaching in the hand-painted classes in Yuci No.4 middle school and emphasize the practical implementation steps of teaching watercolor teaching in hand-painted lessons.In the third aspect,this paper summarizes the achievements and shortcomings in the teaching of watercolors in Yuci No.4 middle school,and makes a prospect of the practice and application of watercolor teaching in hand-painted lessons of secondary vocational school students.
