Art in junior high school is not only a compulsory course of nine years compulso ry education,,but also serves as a training and improvement of students' aesthetic abili ty and expression ability.This is an irreplaceable subject.Watercolor painting plays a n important role in art teaching in junior high school.Watercolor painting not only ha s the freehand brushwork and charm of Chinese painting,but also the transparent and bright of western painting.Watercolors are also very affordable and easy to prepare fo r materials and tools.The teaching of watercolor as a school-based curriculum is an i mportant part of art teaching in junior high school.Watercolor painting not only attac hes importance to the shaping ability of color and space,but also has a transparent and moist texture,which combines with water phase,but also can be combined with other materials in practical application,and a variety of techniques collide with each other t o create surprises and sparks.The collision of watercolor painting on materials and th e application of techniques allow students to discover beauty in constant experiment a nd practice,get inspiration and produce fun,so as to gain beauty perception and enjoy ment.The practice of watercolor painting in the form of school-based curriculum teac hing in junior high school art classroom can not only improve the students' basic mod eling ability and color aesthetic ability,but also stimulate students to draw hands-on p ractice and express their pleasure in life and beautiful things.The research of this pap er is to take the study field of the school-based curriculum of art subject in the junior middle school of Zhenguang Experimental School of Guangzhou as an example,to un derstand the practical application of watercolor painting in the form of school-based c urriculum in the art classroom teaching of junior high school and its advantages and di sadvantages,and to adjust and analyze it according to the actual investigation situatio n.Finally,taking the class activity of watercolor painting as an example to arrange "th e scenery under the aurora" as an example,the actual situation of the teaching case is analyzed concretely to ensure the feasibility of the viewpoint and goal put forward in t his paper,and to provide useful data reference for the art teachers in the compulsory e ducation junior middle school.
