Research On The Quality Guarantee Mechanism Of Undergraduate Internship In Research University

Internship is an important part of the practical teaching system and a key point of undergraduate training programs in universities.In recent years,research universities tried to strengthen internship teaching through revising undergraduates training programs,increasing funding,improving the systems and teaching management.Although the quality of internship has been improved,the internship teaching is still a weak link of undergraduate training in domestic research universities.Based on a case study of X research university,this paper examined the circumstance of its undergraduate internship quality guarantee,conducted a questionnaire survey among undergraduates,internship instructors and internship units,and found problems in our research universities,such as lack of understanding of internship teaching,insufficient internship teaching mode,imperfect internship conditions guarantee system,unscientific evaluation system of internship quality,and poor external environment of internship.Combining with the theory of total quality management and the theory of higher education assurance system,and learning from the experience of practicing the quality assurance mechanism of undergraduate internship in foreign research universities,the paper maintained that the research universities should establish and perfect the quality guarantee mechanism of undergraduate internship in five areas,including accurately grasping the internship characteristics,optimizing the internship teaching mode,improving condition guarantee mechanism,perfecting valuation mechanism,and setting up a sense of common responsibility.The paper preliminarily constructed a quality guarantee mechanism for undergraduate internship in research universities,which could provide some references for research universities to strengthen internship teaching management,improve internship teaching quality,and enhance undergraduates' practical ability.However,due to the particularity and complexity of internship teaching,and the limited knowledge and research ability of the author,further research is needed.
