The “layer method” uses geographic information systems and related technologies,or uses sulfuric acid paper or film and other teaching tools to superimpose a single layer into a comprehensive map of regional geography.On this basis,regional conditions or elements are analyzed.This research topic divides regional geography into three themes: regional location and distribution,regional linkages and differences,and regional environment and development.It proposes a teaching method based on “layer method” for each topic.Finally,it proposes five steps to carry out classroom teaching based on the “layer method”: setting problem contexts,sequentially creating layers,overlaying layers,layer analysis and communication,and building a knowledge network map.In this study,we selected the junior high school regional geography “India” to conduct teaching design and implementation based on the layer method,and carried out research on the sample groups through the observation method and experimental method.The research results show that the application of the layer method to the regional geography classroom teaching in junior high schools is conducive to improving the students' ability of independent inquiry,cooperative learning and problem solving;it is conducive to cultivating the students' geography learning interest;the students' geography learning performance and the teachers' performance are improved.Geography teaching level.At the end of this paper,the conclusions of the study and the deficiencies in the study are elaborated,which lays the foundation for the further development of the layer method in the future.
