Teaching has its methods, but they are not fixed, the key of themdepends on how to apply. The geographical comparison method is one ofthe logical thinking methods. In the teaching of geography, usinggeographic comparison method can make students gain new knowledgeabout the object, and know its position in the status of the entire systemof geographical knowledge; understand and memorize the geographicalprinciple that has been proved, strengthen the link between old and newknowledge, develop students’ geographic thinking ability. In the threeyears of teaching practice, the author often used geographic comparisonmethod for teaching, geographic comparison method is a good way forteachers to teach and also a good method which is suitable junior highschool students’ psychological characteristics. In view of this, along withthe introduction of new text materials under the2011version of the newcurriculum, I believe that the research of applying geographicalcomparison method into Grade Seven’s geography teaching is verynecessary.In this paper, the author takes Grade Seven’s textbooks as afoothold,use the method of literature, induction method, action research,statistics and so on to study geographical comparative method’s range ofapplication in Grade Seven’ geography teaching, and then summarizethem by the teaching practice. The author comes to conclusion fromstatistics of geographical knowledge which can use geographicalcomparison method to teach, the geographic comparison method in theteaching of geography in the seventh grade is widely used; geographiccomparison method in the seventh grade geography teaching in a varietyof application types; geographical comparison the method presented inthe seventh grade geography teaching in various forms. The main role ofthe geography of comparative law on teaching practice: First, the teaching of teachers: for geography teachers to provide the best teachingmethods; help geography teachers build open classroom; contribute to theactive classroom atmosphere, to achieve teaching objectives. Studentlearning: is conducive to easy for students to learn geography knowledge;help to improve the capacity and geographic thinking ability of thecomparative analysis of the students, and to cultivate the students’geographic literacy; helping to train the students’ emotional attitudes andvalues.
