The Construction of Geographical knowledge structure is an effective way to cultivate students' Geography Literacy,However,teachers always stick to the content of teaching traditionally so that the construction process of students' geographical knowledge structure is ignored,which is disadvantageous to the improvement of students' cognitive level and thinking ability.As a knowledge representation tool,concept map has been proved to help students effectively to establish knowledge relationship.Thus,how should the concept map be applied to the construction of students' geographical knowledge structure? In the process of using concept map to establish geographical knowledge structure,what should teachers and students pay attention to? What problems can the concept map reflect in the construction of students' geographical knowledge structure? The above issues are worthy of our attention.The paper is a study of the above problems,which are aimed at integrating the concept map into geography teaching to help students establish knowledge structure and realize the value of geography education.By reading a lot of literature,the present research on the construction of geographical knowledge structure is summarized,combed and concluded.Combining with the advantages of concept map in reflecting learners' knowledge structure construction process and its application in related disciplines,the concept map is used as a research tool.The paper designs the application case of concept map in the construction of geographical knowledge structure in senior high school,and carries on the case practice among 98 students in two classes from a middle school of Lanzhou.Through the analysis of the concept map drawn by the students involved in the study and the subsequent study,it is found that: Mechanical memory of geographical knowledge is disadvantageous to the construction of students' geographical knowledge structure;the students who participate in the study are not clear about the relationship among knowledge,and the storage of knowledge is fragmented;Students seldom consider the relationship among knowledge in the process of geography learning,and set up the knowledge structure from the connection of knowledge;Concept map can help students to construct geography knowledge structure effectively;Besides,Concept map is helpful to change students' bad habit of learning geography knowledge;Teachers should pay attention to the unity of formative evaluation and resultant evaluation in the process of applying concept map to help students to construct geographical knowledge structure.Based on the above findings,the author puts forward some concrete suggestions on the application of concept map in geography teaching and students' geography learning.For teachers,First of all,teachers can use the concept map to optimize the teaching design;Secondly,teachers can use the concept map to grasp the relationship between knowledge;Thirdly,teachers can use concept map as an effective tool for concept teaching.Finally,teachers can use conceptual diagrams to promote students ' cooperative learning.For students,Students can use concept map as a tool to integrate geographical knowledge and a method of self-assessment of geographical knowledge structure.
