STEM education is one of the major education strategies in the United States.In recent years,while STEM education is rapidly developing in the United States,it has encountered many challenges.The main performance is lack of teachers,insufficient funds and insufficient resources allocation.In order to solve these problems,the United States federal government and state governments have put forward various countermeasures.The establishment of STEM Education Center is one of them.The STEM Education Center is a STEM education platform created through social cooperation and mode of operation.It is an institution connecting enterprises,governments and academia.The establishment of the center can be said to have made a huge increase in STEM workforce and the quality of STEM education contribution.STEM Education Center has various forms of organization,including government,universities and social enterprises.This article is selected STEM Education Center created by the state government.This article selects three STEM education centers in the United States for research.The three states are Utah,Idaho and Texas.The main research method adopted in this paper is case study.The author first gives a brief account of the basic situation of the three state-level STEM centers and then analyzes their goals and tasks in an attempt to give readers an initial understanding of the state-level centers.On this basis,the author also from five aspects to introduce how the three STEM education center of state of the operation,the five aspects respectively,policy support,financial support,organizational structure and functions of institutions and social cooperation.By introducing the operation of STEM education state center in these three states,the author summarizes their four characteristics and evaluates them.The four characteristics are respectively center organization,funding is expanding,increasing year by year and capital channel project basis weight and cutting-edge technology,functions on both ends of the range(preschool education and graduate education)permeate etc.Through the research of these STEM state centers,I found that although these centers were not established for a long time,their development is excellent and rapid.This is inseparable from the business,government and academic support.However,there are also deficiencies in the center,such as the lagging development of some STEM-related projects,the lack of interaction between the center and relevant agencies,and the need to strengthen the regulation of resource integration. |
