Postgraduates,as the top of national education,are deeply concerned,so postgraduates' thesis,as one of the measurement standards of postgraduate education quality,has become a hot topic in recent years.A postgraduate,as an academic,have responsibility to make a qualified thesis at graduation through a certain academic training during school.However,in this process,there are some problems as follows: a large number of low quality papers,papers published through informal channels,and publishing papers with utilitarianism.Academic research is the kind of n knowledge innovation and the publication of academic papers is the kind of knowledge exchange,but the exaggeration phenomenon in the process of publication is contrary to its original intention.At present,there are more critical views on the abnormal phenomenon of postgraduate academic papers,but few scholars have deeply studied it.This paper will introduce a new research method—grounded theory into this field.The purpose of this paper is to explain why and how academic anomalies occur in postgraduates.And how does individual behavior evolve into group behavior?.In this paper,in-depth interviews with qualitative research were conducted.After interviewing 23 graduate students at Y University,three level coding analysis of interview materials was conducted based on the extensive collection of data and information,and then integrate the materials by category analysis and situation analysis,finally the conclusion was drawn.This study get some conclusions as follows:On the one hand,a source of pressure out of graduation and survival;on the other hand,money and honor from the publication of scholarships,which are the demand for students to publish papers.But the scarce ability of students' academic and the less effective guidance of tutors have become the limiting conditions to meet the demand,therefore "ghost behavior" have indirectly become another shortcut under the circumstance of the impetuous academic atmosphere,the emergence of the paper industry chain,the lack of the system and the decline of academic morality.Among them,the academic cognition and flexibility rules of graduate students have become the catalyst.Finally,the academic cognition has deviation,the rigid rule appears alienation,and the academic ethics gives way to the academic interest.Now,it comes to the grounded theory: first,"ghost behavior" of the postgraduates' thesis in Y University is a choice of self-interest under the marketing conditions and rational interests maximization.Second,the interaction between students and intermediaries turns individual behavior into group behavior and the social exchange among economic rational people makes individual behavior based on the micro level form systematic behavior based on the macro level.
