We live in the era of knowledge economy,and innovation is a prerequisite for building a strong nation of talented people and enhancing our international status.With the progress of science and technology and the development of society,the hot words of "maker education" have a profound influence in various research fields at home and abroad.Since Prime Minister Li Keqiang put forward the idea of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" in the report on government work in 2015,the education of maker has set off an upsurge in the whole country.In recent years,many higher vocational colleges have also carried out the building of the maker space,and have made efforts to transform this "school-based" maker space into an important carrier for college students for innovation and entrepreneurship education.The establishment of the creation of a maker space in higher vocational colleges has theoretically met the needs of many students who want to be a maker,in line with the policy spirit and concept of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation".However,as the carrier for college students to learn to apply,it is a problem worth studying that whether there are some problems and shortcomings in the course of its operation and management in maker space.Therefore,the author will study the existing problems of maker space management in higher vocational colleges from the perspective of educational functions,and then some feasible suggestions and countermeasures will be put forward.The suggestions and countermeasures are expected to promote the further development of the maker space in higher vocational colleges.This research mainly discusses two problems: first,discovering and resolving problems and deficiencies in the management of maker space in higher vocational colleges with educational function orientation;second,the way to make the higher vocational college students enhance their innovation ability,the ability to solve practical problems and team cooperation ability in the scientific,reasonable and perfect maker spaces.In this study,the author uses the literature research method,the interview method,the participation observation method,the action research method,and questionnaire survey method.Firstly,on the basis of collecting,analyzing,and collating a large number of related literature on maker education,education functions,the operation of a maker space,learning activities based on a maker program,and the cultivation of innovative abilities,the author has interviewed students from different vocational colleges and personally participated in the observation of all aspects of the maker space.After analyzing the interview results and summary of observation records,some problems existing in higher vocational colleges were found,and strategies and methods to solve these problems based on the related theories of maker education were further put forward.Secondly,taking higher vocational college students as experimental subjects,we put the strategy guided by author to be implemented and tested,and interview the relevant person after the experiment.After analyzing the experiment results,it is proved that the author’s proposed strategy is effective.The strategy can make the maker spaces give full play to its educational function,and can stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm to participate.At the same time,in the process of maker activities,students’ storage of professional knowledge can be increased,students’ professional innovation ability can be improved.The activities enables the students to summarize the problem solving methods independently and collaboratively,and has a good effect in teamwork and communication.
