Sequential thinking is the basis of analyzing and understanding the historical knowledge,and it is also one of the basic thinking in studying history.The “ Chinese and foreign history outline” of Ordinary High School History Curriculum Standard of 2017 arranged according to the General history system highlights the space-time concept from five core literacy of history,and it also emphasizes the importance of sequential consciousness.However,the current high school history curriculum standard is still based on the 2003 edition which is arranged according to the mode of “module +thematic”.It is not beneficial to the grasp of students’ sequential thinking ability.To develop students’ sequential thinking ability is not only the requirement of the sequence characteristic of history discipline,but also goals and one of the important tasks in the history teaching of high school.Concerning the arrangement of the current teaching edition of high school history textbooks,many senior high school teachers have found that it is not conducive for the students to acquire the knowledge of time sequence.This paper uses literature research,questionnaire investigation to discuss the necessity of high sch1 ool students’ sequential thinking ability,and at the same time,the case study method is conducted to explore the cultivation of specific strategies on the basis of summarizing the predecessors’ researches and three-year teaching practice of myself.This paper attempts to explore the strategies of training high school students’ sequence thinking ability based on the arrangement patterns and contents of current high school history textbooks.Firstly,it expounds the related concepts of historical sequence thinking ability.Secondly,it discusses the necessity of cultivating high school students’ sequential thinking ability according to the requirement of curriculum standard,examination syllabus,the national volume arts integration high examination papers in recent six years,and the existing problems in questionnaire survey.Finally,in allusion to the specific developing strategies and the arrangement mode and content of textbook,it puts forward some suggestions from the perspective of teachers and students.
