With the change of times and the transformation of family structure in China, the endless family and parent-child problems have brought the pressure on the family members themselves and the social stability has also been adversely affected. As an important link for maintaining family harmony, the issue of parent-child relationship has always been the focus of scholars and the public.Since the family therapy has been widely used in the treatment of all kinds of family problems, structural family therapy theory has provided a new framework and idea for solving family and parent-child problems because of its emphasis on family integrity and interaction among members. It has become one of the most commonly used family therapy theories. This article follows the theory of structural family therapy, using literature method, interview method and observation method for a case intervention of a family with parent-child problems, the results found that the structural family therapy theory can be used to help family members to reshape the boundaries of each subsystem, change the rigid mode of interaction between members. This will improve the family structure and family issues such as parent-child relationship due to bad interaction between members.By using the theory of structural family therapy, this study helps family to improve bad parent-child relationship caused by the parent-child interaction and family structure problems.By reshaping the structure of the family and changing the interaction model of the members, there has been a new change in the original structure of the family and the relationship between parents and children. However, the limitation of western family therapy theory in parent-child problem is worth reflecting.Firstly, there are differences in the structure of Chinese and western families and the standard of good family structure needs to be adjusted according to the specific characteristics of our families.Secondly, the intervention process needs to take into account cultural differences in order to reduce the impact of cultural backgrounds when parents encounter family and parent-child issues. Finally, the development of social work in China is unbalanced and the authority and influence of social workers in solving the parent-child problems need to be strengthened.
