Objective: in order to research the best exercise forms for muscle and provide the theoretical guidance for scientific fitness and sports training, the comparison about effects of the waist and abdomen, caused by some activities like supine, prone, lateral and kneeling braces and so on,is performed with different stable states. Methods: 30 students are selected as subjects from The Physical Education Institute of Sichuan Normal University, and then they receive two tests with the Telemyo16-surface EMG system of Noraxon Company. The first test is to observe the surface EMG reactions of 10 muscles of the waist and abdomen through supine, prone, lateral and kneeling braces under different stable conditions and the examined muscles include the left and right RA,EO,IO,TES and LES.The integral EMG(IEMG)of each muscle in5 s is selected after the action meets the standard requirements;the second one is to test the integral EMG values of each muscle in the maximum equal-length contraction(MVC),and then and standardize the EMG activities of each muscle in reality, lastly, analyze the effects of waist and abdomen in different stable conditions by the standardized integral EMG values.Results:(1)the IEMG(%MVC)about RA,EO,IO,TES and LESshows significant differences in different stable states(P<0.01).The integral EMG values of TES and LES of three actions in supine position is largest, but RA smaller;the integral EMG values of RLES and LLES in hemisphere position on yoga mat is 32.4 and 31.6% separately;the integral EMG values of RTES and RLES in the left leg supporting with Swiss ball is45.6% and 31.6% respectively;(2)the values about IEMG(%MVC)on RA,EO,IO of three types in prone is highest while TES and LES lowest;IEMG(%MVC)of these muscles projects apparently significant differences(P<0.05).the IEMG(%MVC)data of LRA?RRA?LEO?REO?LIO?RIO on flat hand support is arranged 34.6%?35.4%?38%?43.5%?33.3% and 31.9% on Swiss ball.(3)the IEMG(%MVC)of RRA?REO ? RIO ? RTES and RLES stemming from Lateral-lying are characteristic of significant differences with four steady situations(P<0.05),especially,the measures of the left and right muscles are much more different(P<0.01).the maximum of IEMG(%MVC)on REO and RIO is 38.9% and 49.2% in the equilibrium airbag state when performing lateral-lying elbow support front leg.(4)Kneeling support contains three actions: The IEMG(%MVC)of muscles were the largest in the balance balloon and the Bosu hemisphere, and there was no significant difference between the two states(p>0.05),and the EMG of the muscles on the yoga mat were the smallest, and there were significant differences(p<0.05)with comparing that of the equilibrium balloon and the Bosu hemisphere. Conclusion: In the static exercise, the types of supine and prone actions on the the Swiss ball have the best effect on the muscles exercise, the supine action is best for the back muscles, the prone movement is benefit for abdominal muscle, one leg-supporting can receive the good effect on the muscle's exercise for the supporting side, while lying on one's side is best for the supporting muscle's exercise. It turns out that the various effects of muscles' exercise come from the different stable conditions, and it is not sure that unstable state can produce the best benefit for muscle's exercise which is closely connected with the stability of exercise equipment.
