| In recent years,the research on teacher competence has been paid more and more attention,but the achievements on the teaching competence of primary school teachers are very few.This research explore elementary school teachers’ teaching competency by literature method,questionnaire investigation,statistics and other methods.The study included 13,721 primary school teachers in 11 districts and 80 counties in Jiangxi province.The following conclusions are drawn from the analysis of the survey data:First of all,the teaching competence of primary school teachers is at a good level but not enough.The total average of teachers is 4.86,which is in good condition.The scores of the four primary indexes ranged from high to low is: teaching ability(4.96),professional character(4.86),personality traits(4.83),and knowledge attainment(4.66).Three indicators are better in 11 secondary indicators,respectively,is professional pursuit(5.12),professional attitude(5.11)and teaching exploration(5.01).There are two indicators were weaker: general knowledge(4.16)and professional emotion(4.23).In the three-level index,the knowledge of treatment,adaptability and humanities and social sciences is weak,and the scores of natural science knowledge,self-regulation,physical condition and equality are also too low.Secondly,different primary school teachers have different teaching competence.In different of the region,teachers’ teaching competence scores according to rank,in turn,is Pingxiang,Fuzhou,it,Ganzhou,Yichun,Shangrao,Yingtan,Jiujiang,Nanchang and Xinyu.From the differences of schools,the teaching competence of teachers in urban schools is higher than that of rural primary school teachers.From the differences of age,the age of 40 ~ 50 years old elementary school teacher in highest average score,the age before 50 years old of primary school teachers’ teaching competency level increases with the increase of age,but their level of competence of teaching after age 50 more significant decline.According to the teaching age,the level of teaching competence of primary school teachers under 30 years of teaching is increasing with the growth of teaching age,but the teaching competence level of primary school teachers who have been teaching for 30 years tends to be stable.From the state of preparation,the teaching competence of primaryschool teachers with national development is significantly higher than that of primary school teachers who have not obtained the state.In terms of professional title,the higher the grade of primary school teachers,the higher the level of teaching competence.From the educational background,the higher the education level,the higher the level of teaching competence.There is no significant difference in the teaching competence of primary school Chinese teachers and primary school math teachers,but all of them are higher than that of primary school teachers.In recognition,the higher the level of recognition,the higher the teaching competence.At the same time,the nature of teaching school is public or private,gender,teaching grade,week classes,and whether to serve as the head teacher has little influence on the performance of primary school teachers in teaching competence.Finally,various factors affect the teaching competence of primary school teachers.Teaching research organization and its activities,teacher training,literature reading,teaching reference,teaching research and teaching pressure have great influence on the teaching competence of primary school teachers.In order to improve the primary school teachers’ teaching competence,the schools are advised to strengthen research organization construction,actively carry out the research activity,strengthen the teacher training and literature reading,alleviating mental pressure of teachers,improve teachers’ economic treatment. |
