The Research About Problems Existing In The Current College Students' Extracurricular Reading And Countermeasures

As we all know,modern society is an era of knowledge economy.In order to adapt to the development of the society,we need to keep learning.Reading is an important way to learn and extracurricular reading is an important part of reading.The general characteristic of the current college students' extracurricular reading is optimistic,but there are some problems.Therefore,the studying of current college students' extracurricular reading has a strong practical significance.This paper,taking Wuhan Institute of Technology as the example,deeply analyzed the current problems of college students' extracurricular reading with literature research,typical case study,questionnaire and interview method and other methods.The first part,analyzed practical and theoretical significance on the research of college students' extracurricular reading,and pointing out the importance of solving the problems of extracurricular reading.The second part,summarized the domestic and foreign relevant theories about reading and college students' extracurricular reading,and expounded the meanings of the college students' extracurricular reading,features and necessity.Extracurricular reading is helpful to perfect the knowledge structure,and enhance the humanities accomplishment;to expand their horizons,and improve the overall quality;to enrich amateur life,and promote health of mind;to improve the ability to distinguish between right and wrong,and set the right idea.The third part,analyzed the present situation of college students' extracurricular reading,mainly including broad reading contents,diversified way,paper reading and digital reading both existing,diversified motive,shallow reading being popular.And discovered the problems existing in the college students' extracurricular reading by questionnaire survey,mainly including time and quantity is little,content is vulgar and ability is limited,motivation is utilitarian,and the method is not scientific,and not using reading space and materials enough.The forth part,expounded the reason of the problem in college students' extracurricular reading:students have failed to our individual subjective initiative;college has failed to create a good reading environment;society has failed to give full attention;parents have failed do reading education to their children.The fifth part,putting forward the countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem of college students' extracurricular reading: students enhance the initiative of extracurricular reading;the college creates a good reading atmosphere;social creates a good social environment;parents should attach great importance to children' reading education.
