The school model of rural vocational-technical school is complicated and students in the rural vocational-technical schools are so special.The author try to improve the current reading situation that the rural vocational-technical schools students are facing by questionnaires,class observation and interview.The paper is made up of five parts.The first part is introduction which includes research topic,content and specific research methods.Besides,it mainly introduces the concept of extracurricular reading through literature review,the research about current extracurricular reading of rural high school students and rural vocational-technical school students as well as improving rural vocational-technical school students' strategies on extracurricular reading.The second part mainly deals with factors that will influence students' extracurricular reading.The third part will analyze problems existing in rural vocational-technical school students' extracurricular reading.The fourth part mainly focus on specific ways.The author established specific plans and did three rounds research.Rural vocational-technical school students' awareness and interest on extracurricular reading has improved during research.They have acquired basic extracurricular reading skills and so have their abilities.The fifth part is about reflection further research.Though the three-round research didn't bring happiness to everyone,students surveyed still got something useful.Therefore,this research has some effects.
