Research On The Construction Of College Counselors' Professionalization

To strengthen the construction of college counselors' professionalization is an important proposition the era entrusts to higher education.The paper begins with an introduction of the concept,standards,features and theories of college counselors' professionalization,and the analysis of its necessity and feasibility.Then with an analysis of the current situation of Chinese college counselors' professionalization based on the case of XL University,we point out that college counselors are relatively low in social status,instable and quite unprofessional.Then the paper focuses on factors that constrain the construction of college counselors' professionalization,which are government policies,college system and counselors themselves.Finally,the paper puts forward three suggestions:completing the policies concerning college counselors,increasing the support to colleges,and improving counselors' professionalism.Our research is of great significance since we've consulted a large variety of relevant literature,made enough questionnaires and interviews,adopted scientific theories and methodologies,and followed the research method of combining theory with practice.On research priorities,we add a whole chapter to state the reasons in detail while compared to general research methods like theoretical basis,elaboration of current status,and suggestions.On research method,we start with the professionalization construction of one familiar college' counselors,and end with universal solutions on the basis of the synchronous study and comprehensive analysis of macro status quo and micro-weld sample.
