College Counselors Specialized Construction Research

Teacher Professionalization is not only the ultimate trend of world's teacher education, but also the needs of teacher education reform and the direction. College counselors as an important part of teachers, counselors professional development is also an inevitable trend in China's education reform. In October, 2004, the State Council promulgated the"Suggestions on Further Strengthen and Improve Ideological and Political Education"(central 16 files). In January 2005, the Ministry of Education promulgated"Suggestions on Strengthen Rank Construction of Political Instructor and Class-adviser in College".In July 23, 2006 and July 27, 2006, the Ministry of Education respectively promulgated"Regulation on Construction of Counselor in College"and"2006 to 2010 College Counselors Training Plan". A series of documents promulgated by the nation show that the high emphasis on construction of college counselors by nation. Those provide a policy level guidance in resolving the current problem of construction of college counselors. The writer has investigated college counselors from Hainan University. Through questionnaires and interviews, the writer has found some problems in construction of counselors, such as: inadequate attention, low position, younger in average age, education background need to improving, the knowledge structure is irrational, difficulties in job promotion. The writer analysis from society, country, educational and individual, and provide some countermeasures and suggestions about college counselors specialization.
