Teaching methods have significant effects on teaching effectiveness.Geographical activities is a method that allows students to participate in the activity,improve their literacy and learning interest in geography.Currently,the front-line teachers use few geography activities in class,none of the geographical activities system was provided in the middle school geography textbooks.Therefore,it is worthy to design the geographical activities in senior middle school geography teaching.In this thesis we design a series of geography activities for the compulsory textbook1 published by People’s Education Press(PEP),combined with our teaching experience and based on the questionnaire survey to understand the current status of geographical activities application.Suggestions are proposed to improve the design of geographical activities in the senior middle school geography class.Practice results indicate that students like this teaching method and show high acceptance.The teaching effectiveness is generally better with the key and difficult points mastered by most students.The geographical activities designed in this paper can provide a reference for the teachers as well as supplement materials for the "activity" column in the geography textbooks.It is an effective,feasible and highly recommended method for senior middle school geography teaching.The overall thesis falls into six chapters:First of all,puts forward the research background and overview of geographical activities study both domestic andinternational.Then,the research strategy and methods of this thesis are determined.Secondly,proposes the theoretical foundation of geographical activities design by definition and classification of the concept.Thirdly,focuses on the present situation in senior middle school geography teaching,by study the implementation of geographical activities in both the compulsory PEP textbook1 and teaching practice.Fourthly,elaborates the design of geography activities.A series of geographical activities are designed for key and difficult points in compulsory PEP textbook1 under corresponding principles.Fifthly,presents the application of geographical activities in compulsory PEP textbook1 teaching.The designed geographical activities are put into practice study using the action research method.The last part is the outlook and conclusion part of this thesis.
