Group Work To Improve The Integration Degree Of Urban And Rural Fringe Elderly Community

Along with the dual structure of urban and rural areas and the process of industrialization and urbanization in our country,the group of elderly people who have migrated has emerged and continues to expand.Due to their own reasons,the influence of family conditions,and differences in cultural customs,migrant olders also face difficulties in their social interactions.How to integrate into the community has become a major challenge for them to spend their remaining years in comfort.Social work is a helping profession and occupation,and the social work helping theory provides a professional perspective for the analysis of community integration and can provide professional methods to promote migrant olders community integration.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore social work involvement in the community integration of the elderly who migrate with the urban-rural junction to improve the happiness of the elderly and promote the harmonious development of society.In this research,the elderly in the S community of Shenyang City were taken as the research object,and the group social work method was used to improve the community integration of the elderly in the community.The literature analysis method,interview method,scale method and questionnaire survey method are used for investigation and research,supported by the re-socialization theory,social support theory and community governance theory;Through a questionnaire survey of 75 migrant olders in the community and in-depth interviews with 9 interviewees,8 community-eligible people who met the group ’s requirements in the S community were selected to form a community integration enhancement group,6 group activities to improve community integration.Through the investigation,the community integration problems of migrant olders were mainly reflected in the low self-identity and community belonging,the narrow interpersonal communication circle,the conflicts among the residents,the lack of emotional care and support of the children,and the low utilization rate and participation of the community resources,and so on.Solving these problems requires creating a community atmosphere of friendly participation,enhancing the professional service capabilities of social workers,actively carrying out community activities to create a harmonious family atmosphere,and introducing social organizations and social governance projects.These measures can effectively improve the community integration of migrant olders,so that they can t live in their old age.The innovation of this essay is to comprehensively use social work research methods to diagnose the status of community integration of migrant olders,use interactive mode to improve the degree of community integration,and place migrant olders in the specific area of urban-rural junction.The disadvantage of this essay is that the representativeness is not strong.The urban-rural junction(S community)selected by the author is a relatively mature community,with high housing rents,good economic conditions for the migrant olders,and a high degree of cooperation among residents.However,in the emerging urban-rural junction,the housing rent in the community is low,and the economic status and coordination of residents may be lower than in mature communities,so the research in this essay is not extensive.
