Under the background of Chinese economic transformation,various social problems and conflicts emerge constantly.As the first-line force closest to the messes,the grass-roots policemen undoubtedly face enormous pressure.They not only undertake the task of maintaining regional public security and stability,but also bear responsibilities as housing demolition,urban renovation and other tasks outside of their professional realm.The broad coverage of police's tasks and the negative report of police by social media have led to the decline of professional recognition for grass-roots policemen.As a result,some police officers choose to leave the public security team under pressure.Research on the professional recognition of the grass-roots police can promote public understanding of this career;on the other hand,it plays an important role in maintaining the healthy and stable development in police teams and improving job satisfaction and efficiency for grass-roots policemen.In order to fully understand the status quo of grassroots police professional identity,A questionnaire survey was conducted among 216 grass-roots policemen from 8 police stations of District A of Shanghai Public Security Bureau.We strive to understand the public service motivation,job satisfaction,turnover intention and the human resources practice of grassroots police stations through empirical analysis,and to demonstrate the relationship between human resource practice and public service motivation and professional identity of grassroots policemen.The results of the influence of professional identity to grassroots police officers on their job satisfaction and turnover intention were discussed.The results show that the motivation of grass-roots policemen in public service and human resources practice have a significantly positive impact on grassroots policemen's professional identity.Grass-roots police job satisfaction is positively correlated with grass-roots police's professional identity.While their turnover intention and professional identity are negatively correlated.Based on the analytic results,this paper puts forward some strategies to enhance the professional identity of grass-roots policemen from three levels: attaching importance to public service motivation of grass-roots policemen,effectively integrating human resources practice and strengthening professional care of grass-roots policemen.It is expected to provide a useful reference for promoting the regularization of the grassroots public security team and enhancing the professional pride and performance of the grassroots police.
