Social Work Involved In The Study Of Left-behind Elderly People In Community Activities

Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11 th Central Committee of the Communist,reform and opening up have been continuously promoted,the speed of urbanization has been accelerated,and the surplus rural labor force has also increased.Therefore,a large number of young and middle-aged farmers have to find the job in the city.Gradually,more and more left-behind seniors appeared in rural areas.The problem of the left-behind seniors in rural areas has become the focus of scholars' research in recent years.Take the X community of Chahar Right Middle Banner in Ulanqab,Inner Mongolia as an object,this study preliminarily believes that the left-behind seniors should not only bear the loneliness caused by the absence of their children,but also have some difficulties and problems in material and spiritual aspects.In-depth study of the problems and actual needs of left-behind seniors participating in community activities has positive significance for the improvement of current relevant theories and the solution of practical problems.This study is divided into the following three stages: in the first stage,the literature method was used for previous preparation,collecting and sorting a large number of relevant literatures,which lays the theoretical foundation for further research.In the second stage,interview and participant observation were adopted to obtain a large number of first-hand data.In the third stage,the above data were integrated.On the premise of finding problems,the theory of social support and activity theory were used as the theoretical background,and group work and community work were used as the development methods to explore and try to solve the problems related to left-behind seniors participating in community activities in X community.The purpose of this study is to find and solve the problems existing in left-behind seniors' participation in community activities,so as to find an effective way tomeet the needs of left-behind seniors' community participation,as far as possible in line with the development goals of being dependent on and having something to do for the elderly,and to provide reference for the follow-up research in this field.This paper is mainly composed of three chapters.The first chapter analyzes the geographical,social and economic environment of the Chahar Right Middle Banner,and evaluates the participation of left-behind seniors in X community on the basis of field investigation.It is found that the left-behind seniors have the following problems in participating in community activities: their interpersonal skills are insufficient,the content of community recreational activities is single,and the community environment construction is incomplete.Based on the above understanding,this paper analyzes the causes of these problems from the subjective and objective perspectives.The second chapter conducts practical intervention based on the demand analysis of the left-behind seniors in X community.For the problem of insufficient interpersonal communication among left-behind seniors,this paper tries to explore and further improve the social support network of left-behind seniors by means of group work,so as to promote their emotional communication and interaction.In terms of the single content of community recreational activities and the construction of community environment,a series of specific plans for left-behind seniors to participate in community activities were designed and developed according to the actual situation of the community and gradually implemented.The purpose of this study is to enrich the content of left-behind seniors' participation in community activities and solve problems such as community environment construction,indirectly promote the community to form a long-term effective service platform and reasonable and perfect service mechanism,and create a good community atmosphere for left-behind seniors to participate in community activities.The third chapter reflects on the problems existing in the process of this community activity by comparing the enthusiasm of left-behind seniors before and after the activity and evaluating after the service.This paper summarizes some effective methods,such asstrengthening the construction of social work professionals,applying diversified social work practice modes,building a social cooperation platform,and deepening the theoretical guidance of social work.The last part is the summary part which shows that the involvement of social work in community activities of left-behind seniors can stimulate the enthusiasm of left-behind seniors to participate in community activities,to a certain extent,solve the existing problems in community activities of left-behind seniors,and further promote them to become the main body of community activities.
