Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee has repeatedly mentioned the class foundation. The working class is China’s leading class and has a large number of people. The occupational stability of this group is related to the stability of the entire society.Contemporary industrial workers are already different with the workers in the period of Marx and the early days of the founding of the country. It is of considerable importance and practical significance to conduct a separate study on this group. This study attempts to clarify the current status of occupat ional stability and its influencing factors of contemporary industrial workers in my country through survey data,we selected 9 companies to conduct surveys by judging sampling,a total of 1927 valid questionnaires were obtained.First of all, this article made a sample characterization to show the group appearance of China’s contemporary industrial workers.contemporary industrial workers are mainly middle-aged men, with a high degree of education, they are citizens and party members.Secondly, the author uses "occupation mobility" and "job duration" as the measurement indicators, and uses average value comparison, survival analysis and other methods to explore the status of occupational stability of contemporary industrial workers. As of the time of the survey, the respondents had changed jobs up to 4 times, and 62% of them did not have any occupational mobility experience;the average occupational renewal period is 12.86 years, and the first occupational occupational renewal period can be up to 43 years.64.5% of the respondents had their first job lasted for more than 30 years. So,contemporary industrial workers have few occupational mobility, long single job surviving time, and have superior occupational stability.Regarding the fact that the status of industrial workers’ occupational stability is quite different from the conclusions of previous studies(mainly on migrant workers),the author believes that the reason is that the production organization is different.Previous studies on the working class have mostly focused on migrant workers, and they have also tended to the eastern coastal areas during the survey. Most of these enterprises are at the end of the industrial chain. In order to respond flexibly to market demands, they adopt flexible employment methods, that is,recruit people in the peak season, and in the off-season layoffs, this production organization method makes these jobs inherently unstable,so a "short-term" research conclusion has emerged.Unlike this, industrial workers are mostly in traditional industries, such as coal and petroleum.Enterprises in these industries mainly produce commodities, which is still a large-scale organized production method,so the flexibility is low and the scale is large.Planning and fixed production are i ts biggest characteristics. As a result, industrial workers working in this industry are less affected by the labor market, and as long as they do not voluntarily resign, they will generally not face the problem of occupational mobility, and thus have superior occupational stability.
