Compulsory military service system is a national system that citizens must fulfill their military service obligations for a certain period of time within the age stipulated by law,which is conducive to enhancing the national defense concept,sharing military service obligations equally and mobilizing large-scale soldiers in wartime.Vietnam's compulsory military service system evolved from its ancient conscription system,including two aspects: active service and reserve service.In the58-year historical process,Vietnam's compulsory military service system has played an important role in response to the needs of the times,effectively promoting the national reunification of Vietnam and the implementation of the strategy of "From the land toward sea".This paper reviews the history of the Vietnamese People's Army and the revisions of Vietnam's Compulsory Military Service Law,sums up the characteristics and functions of Vietnam's Compulsory Military Service System in different stages,and forecasts the future development trend of the system.This article is divided into four parts.The preface clarifies the basic concepts of military service and military service system,and introduces the general characteristics and functions of the compulsory military service system;the first chapter briefly describes the background and characteristics of the ancient "county conscription system" and "voluntary military service system" in Vietnam and their impact on the modern compulsory military service system;the second chapter takes the previous revisions of the "compulsory military service law" as a clue and combines them.The history of Vietnam's military combs out the origin,adjustment and historical influence of Vietnam's compulsory military service system,and then concludes that Vietnam has formed a unique "national defense" system through the rational allocation of active and reserve service;the third chapter focuses on the analysis of the future trend of Vietnam's compulsory military service system and Its Enlightenment to me,and concludes that Vietnam's compulsory military service system has formed The slave system is not only inclining from land to sea,but also accelerating the conformity with Vietnam's national strategy of "integrating into the international community".
