Research On Intelligence Support Of U.S.Operation Neptune Spear

The U.S.Operation Neptune Spear killed the high value target,al-Qaeda leader bin Laden in one fell swoop,which put an end to the global war on terrorism.It has great significance and far-reaching impacts.The great success of the raids is demonstrating the determination and ability of the great powers,while intelligence support plays an important role behind the scenes.Intelligence support has shown a very high standard in planning,analysis,and execution of the operation.Excellent and solid intelligence work has become the crowning touch of this military masterpiece.The US military has made a big splash on tactical actions,but it has thrown a blanket of secrecy over the details of the intelligence support behind the operation.The most prominent features of this operation are the integration of intelligence support and operation planning,operation implementation,and the synchronization,being real-time and integration of intelligence and operations,which truly reflects the integration and optimization of intelligence support and operations.Without efficient and accurate intelligence support,there will be no such operation.This operation is a long-distance and transnational operation.It is a successful case in the military sense.Studying it,especially the in-depth analysis of its intelligence support work,is a major reference with great significance for safeguarding our overseas interests and our military’s future overseas operations.The dissertation insists on problem-oriented,first restores the profile of the action,and derives the characteristics of the action and the intelligence support behind.Secondly,it analyzes the main processes of high-value target intelligence support from the aspects of intelligence demand,collection,analysis and cooperation.Finally,from the aspects of intelligence cognition,intelligence construction,and intelligence integration,we will make suggestions for our military’s future overseas operations.
