Government is the product of the development of human society to a certain historical stage, and it is an important organization necessary for people to regulate their rights and obligations, establish a stable and orderly political life, and break away from the natural state.Citizens surrender their own rights to the government, with a view to protecting their personal interests and seeking their own development. When citizens grant power to governments, political trust arises.Citizens’ political trust is the foundation of government administrative legitimacy and policy effectiveness.Too low political trust means that the government has lost the support of the people, and the government will spend more costs in formulating and implementing public policies. However, many researchers have found through theoretical and empirical research that the basic characteristics of the current Chinese people’s political trust are shown as a “order of strength and weakness of the central government”.In addition, the political trust of people in different regions, different strata, and different occupations also manifests as an uneven pattern of coexistence of high and low. So,as a key area of government policy and strong output of resources, can the difference in trust be transformed under the strong care of the grass-roots government? And will there be differences in the political trust of poor farmers in different regions? The government’s poverty alleviation has improved the living conditions of poor farmers. Will the changes in relative living standards between poor farmers and non-poor farmers result in differences in political trust between poor farmers and non-poor farmers? Are there differences in political trust between different categories of poor farmers? Based on a review of the existing literature on political trust, this study selects L County,a deeply impoverished county in the country,as the research object, with a view to supplementing in-depth interviews with questionnaires, exploring the differences in political trust among local farmers, and analyzing the reasons for the differences. Then provide feasible suggestions for reducing differences. This research is mainly divided into six parts:Part Ⅰ: Introduction. It mainly introduces the research topic selection background, topic selection, research significance, domestic and international research on political trust, research methods, over all framework of ideas, research difficulties, innovations and deficiencies.Part Ⅱ: the core concepts and theoretical basis. It mainly introduces important concepts such as trust and political trust and the theoretical basis of political trust.Part Ⅲ: Research hypotheses and design processes.Put forward research hypotheses about the differences in political trust in deeply impoverished areas, design political trust measurement indicators and the structure, content and process of questionnaire design.Part Ⅳ: Empirical analysis.First, the overall status and poverty alleviation status of L County are introduced, and then the political trust of farmers in the deeply impoverished areas of L County is described from various measurement dimensions, and factor analysis and other methods are used to verify the differences of local farmers’ political trust. The study finds that: farmers in poor regions in the vertical still have a poor order of political trust.Horizontally,as far as the political trust of the grassroots government is concerned, the degree of political trust of the poor farmers in the poverty-stricken areas is higher than that of the poor farmers in the deeply impoverished areas of L County. In addition, there is also a difference in political trust between poor farmers and non-poor farmers in different poor areas,as well as different types of poor farmers.Part Ⅴ: Cause Analysis.Mainly discusses the political trust differences of farmers in deep poverty areas from the four aspects of grassroots government governance difficulties, poverty alleviation effectiveness, culture and mediaPart Ⅵ: Countermeasures. This section focuses on the corresponding countermeasures for the differences and reasons in the third and fourth parts, and provides some theoretical references and inspirations for reducing the differences in local political trust.
